  1. If they start a front court of Hernangomez and Marvilliams, they might as well just lower the basket to seven feet. They need Zeller for his defense, and personally I don't think that Willy has more upside anyway.

  2. I thought the point of punting was to get players that slip because of their issues (e.g. Drummond's FT%) rather than overdraft them in the early second round? If you draft Drummond at 13 you're drafting him at his value if the league didn't account for FT%... You should be trying to get him in the 20's or 30's as other owners should be shying away from him for that reason, not overdrafting him to force a punt build

  5. So what are people's thoughts on Otto this year? He is definitely a metrics darling; the sort of guy whose metric ranking is higher than his perceived value, which is fair to a slight extent (more in H2H than roto, where he is normally a plug him in and forget about him type of guy), but generally makes him underrated. He is coming off a really solid year 14.7, 6.4, 2.0, 1.5, 0.5 50/44/83% and 1.4 triples. Beast. BUT... Dwight Howard. This guy just soaks up usage and hurts teammates fantasy value - Batum (almost everything) and Kemba (ppg and FG%) both took statistical hits last year. This really scares me in terms of value for Porter especially, but also for Beal and Wall. Porter is a low usage shooter and across the board producer, but if he doesn't get the ball as much his value can slip rapidly (see 14-15 Danny Green vs 15-16 Danny Green). Dwight will also kill spacing and won't do the dirty work (screen assists, etc.) that Gortat did, IMO this means probably a slight hit to Otto's FG% too, he won't get as many good looks as normal. And I think his dimes could drop to about 1.2 per game as Howard also kills ball movement. While I am not saying we will see a Danny Green type drop off (no-way), he could move from being underrated to being overdrafted due to the Dwight factor. I have him ranked in the 30-40 range, but even with a little concern at that. This range probably means I won't get him though. I'm interested to hear other opinions on this...

  6. I was in this exact position in an 8 cat league. Took Jokic at 6 and took Gobert in the second. From your list only Gobert, Love, and Middleton were optons. Honestly, Gobert was queued up for me all along so I was pretty stoked. Base to be elite in blocks, boards, FG% and you are still fine for a base in 3's, FT%, assists and steals since you have only taken 2 bigs and can get those in your G picks. Love and Jokic means you still have to go to the "bigs" well to address your blocks and you can only go to the "bigs" well so many times before your FT% gets compromised. And then you are spending a pick to address bigs and you miss out on assists. I like Love, a lot this year, but I think he works best with an AD pairing. Kyrie just scares me with injuries and the loaded team he is on. Butler is intriguing but the injuries turn me off. Middleton is a reach IMO.

  8. Did some research on top two running backs from each team that has faced 49ers so far. WK1 Vikings: Cook/Murray - 27 carries 82 yards 0 TDs WK2 Lions Jonson/Blount - 16 carries 81 yards 0 TDs WK3 Chiefs Hunt/Ware - 19 carries 45 yards 2 TDs (both TD's were 1 yard plunges) Totals - 62 carries 208 yards (3.36/carry) 2 TD's only 69.3 rushings yards to the top two backs per game 49ers have allowed the 8th most passing yards and have allowed 5 TD's to WR's Even if/when SF falls way behind there will be plenty of 3rd downs. They are healthy against the run and will be without Sherman in the secondary. To me this is going to be a typical Rivers game 250-350 yards and 2 to 3 TD's. I'm starting Williams as a flex unless I have a much better option. I think there is plenty to go around in this one.

  11. KAT all day. Filling up a big man slot with someone who isn't going to kill your FT% numbers is super important. I don't love Giannis in punt assists because punt assists tends to struggle with free throws a lot as you are drafting many low assist big men, and Giannis is just another subpar free throw shooter when you could get an anchor like KAT.

  12. If I draft Harden, Dame, or Russ I feel like I NEED to commit to a punt fg% build. If I take a big man, I feel like i can comfortably take next best available. There is also a much bigger drop-off in bigs than in guards I feel. Maybe I am wrong, but I feel like taking a big early is very advantages.

  13. Dwight's a bigger factor then most think. He clogs up an offense. Kemba Walker gets a new revamped post-Dwight offense and looked great last night. I'm scared for Wall with Dwight on the team.

  14. Standard 12 man league Gave up: Gio Bernard & Baldwin Received: Kelce Had ODB, Hilton and Jones Jr as my WRs. Burton as my only TE. Traded with the Mixon owner. Needed an upgrade at TE!

  15. I think you mis-understood what i meant. I said that it takes 3 weeks for conditioning to get back to normal after that time off MAX (not that injury, that time). 6 weeks off for an elbow injury will certainly not affect his stamina etc. I agree that his conditioning will be fine, he will be back firing bombs in no time!

  17. I've also been thinking that punt FG boosts the value of brick laying guards and wings...which there are already a plethora of, while suppressing the value of big men, which are rare. Whereas a punt FT or assist team would vault the value of rare bigs, and suppress the value of the already plentiful guards and wings. Therefore the punt FT or assist route seems more valuable.

  18. Hey Dudley that's because the Nets can't guard anybody anyway... Sorry no offense but I just don't see the fascination or upside with RHJ. Maybe I'm wrong.

  19. That’s a little dramatic - you’ll be selling super low unless you’re in a dyno league, I’d definitely stash him in your injured list spot, he might only miss a month of the season.

  20. He looked really solid! Smooth jump shots and post moves, moved very well also, looked like he is the healthiest he has ever been! Defensive positioning also looked really good. 20 points and 13 rebounds in 23 minutes is good no matter who the opposition is!

  22. Otto has been told to take every three that is open for him by his coach. If he can get his threes to over 2 and maintain his defensive stats, he will be a beast this season!

  23. The hope is that his 3pt shot is great because that his best chance of getting a starting lineup spot. Crabbe’s long range shooting is useful for BKN but LeVert is better in every other possible way

  26. I feel like a lot of people are sleeping on him. Everyone thinks Josh Gordon is going to be the "guy" in NE. But the Patriots have been bringing CP84 along slowly and prepping him for primetime. Do you really want to have Patterson on your bench when he blows up? Savvy fantasy owners won't.

  30. I think it would be a fine build, you can probably win the odd week in blocks with some of the KAT, LMA, Kanter, JVal type some weeks performing. Steals may be weak too though.

  31. Could work - Ideal first round would probably be KAT or Curry, maybe Dame although his FG% could be a problem. For wings you'd want the classic punt assists wings - Klay, Porter, Beal, Harris, Middleton types - the only issue is that as you sink further into the draft its harder and harder to find well rounded, efficient players. Most guys in the end of the draft have huge holes in their game, and I feel like spending early picks on efficient big men (KAT, Kanter, Turner, Vuc, Jonas) will leave you scrambling for guards later. It could work, but I'd probably recommend a soft punt in blocks, like if you led out with KAT and got Turner and J-Rich youd be well on your way to the punt assists build but solid in blocks.

  32. Levert. I'm biased but objectively as possible I'd say we've seen Lamb's ceiling for stretches of last year, and although it's good, it's not THAT good. Gallo I would never roster and if you pick him up you'll end up dropping him in a few days/weeks when he gets hurt. Osman is speculative and his ceiling would be Levert's floor imo. Levert is going to make the jump this year, MIP is possible, all star team is possible. His ceiling this year is 18-20 ppg and stuffing the stat sheet on a nightly basis.

  33. Appreciate the insight. Don’t do much IDP, so was just looking to get some ideas from the folks in here. I’ll end up hanging tight, and thanks for the mention of IDPgurus. I’ll have to check that out.

  34. I think it would be an extremely shallow league where I would even consider cutting him. I don't know your team, but I'm 95% sure you should still hang onto him. I have Keuchly in a couple of my leagues and even in my shallow league I'm just going to suck it up and roster and extra lb to cover him, as he's too valuable to dump. Fwiw idpguru has him ranked #1 ros.

  35. I pick 3rd in my 14 team league and I plan do to the same unless Kat goes 2nd, Davis is going 1st. I however plan to take Mitchell, Booker or McCollum in round 2 as punt assists often is a semi punt steals so Porter loses some luster and also punt assists is so dominant in turnovers Porter again loses some luster so imo you took him way too high but that is just me, rest looks solid and even Porter is fine I just would have done it differently.

  36. For similar players I'm probably going Dejounte if I'm around the 65-80+ range, and Fultz a tier later around the 100+ range. I really like him but haven't been able to get yet since someone always takes him a bit high.

  37. He still looks like he is pushing it and not flicking his wrist enough. So yeah I stay not 100% convinced he is over the yips and that when he gets in real game action he will not just continue to be reluctant to shoot any outside jumpers. Preseason is going to mean everything for this guy and his confidence. More than any other player, just seeing him shoot outside jumpers or not in the preseason really is the difference between a must-draft guy (with minutes he potentially can be a two steal one block guy) and a complete bust that I would not draft at all. Because if he is not over the yips, he will go back to being a DNP - CD again. I am pulling for him to succeed, but the yips are no joke and have ruined careers (see Rick Ankiel if you think I am being hyperbolic).

  38. good fit in punt assist build? assists probably won't be too high for a pg, and he should be pretty good for out of position stuff like rebs/stocks. what round you guys targeting in 12 team or what tier of guards do you put him in?
