  2. “Voit put exactly 100 balls in play (BBE) last year, and 54 percent of them left his bat at 95 mph or greater—good for 3rd in the league among all players with a minimum 100 BBE, behind only Miguel Cabrera and Aaron Judge.” ... ”Voit produced barrels in 12.4 percent of his at-bats down the stretch, a mark that was tops in the league among all batters with a minimum 100 BEE. These figures help explain why 19 of Voit’s 44 hits (43 percent) went for extra-bases, and why 14 of those went for home runs: these weren’t cheap hits.” All in.

  4. Actually I'm wrong, the most famous baseball player is Tim Tebow, as pathetic as that may sound.

  5. That was always my guess as well. No reason to bring him back prior to the ASB. I imagine returning after the ASB is the objective for many injured players, gives them that extra week.

  6. No, I think that narrative is increasingly inaccurate. The foul rate has been trending down. Mitch has not had more than 3 fouls in the last 8 games, even though he is averaging about 20 minutes in these games.

  7. Scene: Establishing shot, exterior, dive bar in Philadelphia on a snowy January night, 1995 Interior shot: two guys sitting at the bar Frank: Hey Mike, do you know if Karl Malone is playing tonight? The Jazz are playing the Rockets, and I have him on my fantasy team. Mike: I dunno, I can't check my smartphone cause it won't be invented for like 13 years still and ESPN doesn't have a scroll on the bottom of the screen yet either, I don't think. But he's not hurt, so yeah he's ******** playing. Frank: Thanks. End scene

  10. Who wouldn't sign Hunt to a $1M 1 year Deal? That is an insane bargain.

  12. They don’t need to showcase his talent to trade him. The league knows he has juice. The reason he wasn’t signed was PR, clearly not cost or talent at this point. If you’re an NFL owner, the Browns are taking the PR nightmare away. By week 8 (if Hunt is reinstated), you could throw a pick to the Browns for an established running back on a cheap contract for a playoff run. If you’re the Browns, Hunt and Chubb don’t have the harmony that Kamara and Ingram’s style have. Not a lot of NFL teams are carrying two backs that feature as a workhorse type guy. The Browns just sol

  13. Yeah what is up with Colorado mismanagement for years of their personnel? Why does this keep happening with this organization? It is like they enjoy shooting themselves in the foot each year. Maybe the air is too thin to get enough blood to their brains.

  15. Mazara has been a player I've basically decided I'm keeping until my grave in dynasty. One thing I've noticed with prospects is that they can get judged unfairly depending on their first few seasons, especially when they're up early. Two examples of this I've noticed off the top of my head are Mazara and Xander Bogaerts. Both of their early season careers have been similar in my mind. Bogaerts came up early, debuting at 20 and playing full seasons at 21, 22, 23, and 24. In 2016, at 23 years old, Xander hit 21 homers. The rest of the years, he hit 12, 7, and 10. Now, obviously Maza

  18. i am also high on mazara hes still just 23 years old until the end of april. i still think he can turn into a 30 homerun guy with upside. im loving where hes going thus far and wouldnt mind him as OF 3 or 4 ya but hes just 23. what if he puts that may together for a full year? im willing to take a risk its this year based on his ADP right now

  19. Justin Smoak called and he wants this thread to know that he's available an astonishing 150 picks behind Aguilar. Yes, that's one hundred and fifty picks later in NFBC ADP (Aguilar #80, Smoak #238) and for likely a very similar stat line. Just sayin...

  25. I agree it’s more likely they’ll trade Hunt. But only 60/40 imo. Hunt has the relationship with Dorsey, which may ultimately have more impact in the decision. Time shall tell.

  26. Every Bulls game I've watched he's played fine. Good defender, great mid-range shooter, great passer. He's a below average three point shooter but outside of that there are few holes in his game. I honestly just think the bulls are one of the worst organizations around right now and are a bit clueless. Dunn as their starting pg has to be the least of their worries. Hiring a competent coach and not trading away decent young players for late second round picks should be their main focus.

  27. This Hunt has nothing to prove, there’s 20+ games of tape. Whether the suspension is 6 games or 16- there will be teams ready to part with assets. Heck, it might even be Chubb that gets dealt. You could claim that the Browns will get more if Hunt is cleared this season before trade deadline.... but it’s a win either way.

  28. Yep. Fantastic move by Cleveland. Zero guaranteed money after this season and he’s restricted. Trade one of Hunt or Chubb and enjoy a half season of the dynamic duo in the meantime.

  30. Zero chance. Green is a better pure 3-point shooter and MUCH better on defense. Lin might pick up some Delon's minutes though.

  31. I'd guess Justin Verlander because of Kate Upton main stream coverage though the answer would be "I don't know - what about the guy Kate Upton is married to - I don't know his name but know he's a baseball player - does that count?"..

  32. For what it's worth, i follow him on IG, and he's looking very slimmed down. This Year: Compared to last year: Weight aside, I still like the value for Sano this year. He's in the top 1% of raw power in the league. He hits the ball very hard. If he stays healthy I dont see why .250 and 35 bombs would not be in play. I think the Runs and RBI are the big question depending on where he bats in the order. That lineup is stacked and he might get shoved down to the 6 or 7 spot. Worthy flier on a CI or UTL

  33. If you’re drafting all prospects you have to accept that your team is gonna suck for 3-5 years. You’re literally just sitting back and waiting until they’re all around 24-27 and the core of your team. Taking advantage of prospect stock with proximity to the majors is huge in this strategy because you can flip prospects that are high up on rankings simply due to proximity while focusing on keeping on the highest upside prospects in the meantime. While I don’t think your Whitley for snell trade was the best, I do think trading SP prospects is a good practice as well

  35. Anyone who saw how the youngsters responded to jeers during the Lakers-Pacers game and then again today how they played against the 76ers and LBJ's body language easily realizes significant damage has been done. They may be professionals but they are human beings as well. Most people don't respond well to be considered expendable by their employer. It is one thing to hear of a trade of one or two players for a superstar. It is another when they basically say the whole team other than LBJ isn't comparable to a single player. LBJ looked dismayed today. I understand his desire

  37. He hit .246-16-54 in 272 ABs in the second half (July-Sept). I'd like a better BA, but overall, I'm good with that. Double that and you get .246-32-108 in 544 ABs. He hit .268-10-34 in 183 ABs in the Aug-Sept. Project that out to a full six-month season, and you get .268-30-102. I'm good with that, too.

  38. I agree. I used the word outlier incorrectly, I just think it was his peak season. 260 30 100 I could definitely see. Just shave about 10% off what he did this season.

  39. If you're a player and want to build your brand, you don't sign with a team that's tucked away in the corner of the USA and plays the vast majority of their games when the East coast is asleep. I don't see either one of these guys going out west unless it's to LA. If Machado or Harper sign with San Diego, they better back up the brinks truck because nobody west of the Mississippi will see them again.

  42. What you're saying could very well be true. Since I'm speculating just like you are I'll stop debating that point. I'm going to shift the conversation here a little bit... But if what you're saying does happen and he doesn't get a long term contract then Machado better get one otherwise MLB is headed for a strike. Either way it looks like the players are getting the shaft here and unlike the NBA there isn't a so called 'max contract' yet there is an unofficial salary cap. The good news is that it looks like Manfred sees a problem here and is proactively going to help the situation

  43. I feel like it was more that he just didn't adjust to MLB pitching. He wasn't bad defensively at all. He was really only below average at 3B in what was a tiny sample. Sure, maybe he could've made more adjustments as a hitter if he only had to worry about one defensive position, but I think it's more likely that he still would've struggled as a hitter no matter what. Versatility is extremely valuable in today's MLB, so I don't fault the Phillies at all for teaching him multiple positions from the start. Not sure he got screwed up.He either figures out how to hit, or he doesn't.
