  1. My first thought watching him tonight was he looks like Matthew Lillard. Something to just keep in mind when projecting him for fantasy purposes this season and beyond

  2. Carlos Correa would have some gall to ask for a big money contract this offseason equal to the elite SS's in the lg. He is a 2nd tier SS at best.

  3. Please tell me no one started Castillo in Coors...

  5. Castillo struggles, but Chi Chi Gonzalez can stifle a potent lineup in Colorado. Makes sense.

  9. Things you don’t want to happen might happen: I’d say call that “fantasy baseball” but really that’s life in a nutshell. Maybe hit the links if you can tomorrow?

  10. I think both of you are touching on the truth - Francona has a long-standing habit of trusting implicitly in his chosen pitcher, sometimes to the team’s detriment. He wasn’t “gassed” in the sense of a drop in velo - more in terms of his focus and accuracy were lacking and Shaw was already up and warm heading into that inning. It’s the Mariners who almost got no-hit - again. Bring in your warm reliever and be sensible.

  11. I have been complaining about the Indians usage patterns for Clase and Karinchak for a few weeks now and look what just happened. In the second week of May you bring your rookie closer in on a third straight day and Clase is just completely out of gas and he ended up walking three guys with two outs.

  12. Clase lets have a clean inning for once you got this!

  14. If you want an actual example of behind-the-woodshed, check out Castillo’s start tonight. The kid looked really impressive - even his line looked good. No walks, one more hit than IP, one more K than IP. He obviously was battling nerves - but got more comfortable as he settled into his outing. They may have waited a tad too long to introduce his secondaries - but giving up two long balls to two of the best sluggers in the game is no cause for shame.

  19. He has been horrible. But I’m still not dropping. If he isn’t injured and he hasn’t gone full Rick Ankiel then it just isn’t reasonable to conclude that he lost it out of nowhere. Keep him in your bench. Actually, maybe start him against SF next time

  20. Not tomorrow! Rejoice! No chance he’ll take the mound.

  21. how can you walk a guy with a 2 run lead and 2 outs just throw stikes for god sake worse that can happen is a solo homer now a homer ties it with the walk

  22. Exactly we’ll said sir. Let’s take this outing as a positive as more than a negative, awesome control. Damage was done by 2 great offensive threats, and he was a little nervous.

  23. Getting taken to the woodshed tonight. Everyone falls in love with the shiny new toy and it often takes a while for them to figure it out in the show.

  24. Tbh I’d feel pretty bad about my staff if he was my second best pitcher at this point.

  25. It's his first start. He's got some nerves. Don't except some dominant outing. He's gotta settle in.

  26. I think it's mental at this point. He needs a phantom IL stint to get his head right.

  27. Castillo's ERA is now sitting at 7.71. It doesn't matter what your velocity is when youre serving up more meatballs than an Olive Garden. He's absolutely brutal to watch.

  28. i was just thinking this you can't even trade him for peanuts smart owners will just wait until he's rage dropped if they want a piece of this bum

  31. He definitely seems to be more comfortable at the plate recently. Hopefully he will continue to get more in sync since he has gone back to his old swing. I still think he is a good buy low option though, what do y'all think?

  32. Woke - look above: I wrote that before the Meadows homer - which I’ll agree was a poor changeup and a bad selection.

  34. Guys, what do we think about we've seen from Vlad so far in May? Any concern?
    1 point
  35. Maybe so, but he hasn't exactly been all that good either. In blood for saves leagues it pays to be one step ahead of your competition and right now Fulmer is outperforming Soto when he's been coming out of the bullpen. In 13.1 IP as a reliever Fulmer has a 2.70 ERA with a 18:3 k:bb and a 0.98 WHIP. Meanwhile, Soto has a 18:13 k:bb rate over 16 IP with a 3.94 ERA. I'm sure Fulmer will be made available at any point this year and if Detroit thinks they can extract more value out of him by "showcasing" him as a closer they will.

  36. lol. I question your definition of "collapse" it's been less than 2 weeks. This is why most people are bad at fantasy baseball

  37. Sneaky add... but with most Reds players likely already scooped up unless it's a shallow league... I have one guy I thought could be an interesting add: Kyle Farmer (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS eligible in Yahoo!) He's started the last 5 games for the Reds and is only owned in 2% of Yahoo! leagues... he plays all over the place, so if he keeps hitting, his bat should find its way in... Speculative add if you're chasing some power numbers from Coors. He's on a stacked offense and likely available... If he doesn't play, don't blame me. But he has started 5 in a row so something is working there for h

  39. Rotoworld's description of "Tearing it up" isn't really on par... I should post this now, as the info is kind of misleading. He has 3 HR and 6 hits (through 26 ab).... his OPS is inflated to .930, but his avg is just .231 and obp isn't any better at .276.... His minor league numbers are very pedestrian (1676 AB total at that). I think I wasted my time making this guy a thread. "Tearing it up" is not how I'd describe his minor league season to date... but blurbs will be blurbs on this site, I guess!

  42. Redraft league? Blackmon's been showing some signs of life so I'm leaning side B. Having to include Blackmon seems unnecessary. The trade's pretty even without him. Tatis > Bauer Alvarez = Castellanos Kimbrel >> Musgrove / Blackmon Can you help with mine plz?

  43. They were 1-4 without Tebow. They were 8-5 including playoffs with Tebow with 6 game winning drives. He went into the playoffs against a 12-4 Steelers team that had the best defense in the league. They allowed the least PPG, least YPG, and least passing yards per game. Tebow had 316 passing yards, 50 rushing yards, 3 total TDs, and no TOs.

  45. Yo this is not good. Hamstring injuries could be 1+ week. My Obamacare is already maxed out with LaMelo, Mitchell, LaVine, and Derrick White. And now Conley. I was expecting an easy first rd playoff vs the lowest seed. Now not so sure. FML
