  1. Edmonds is not a much better back than Drake. I’d say they perform similarly if given similar circumstances. What happened when Drake was out was predictable - Edmonds shifted into that role and had 28 worthless touches - only 3 receptions. The weird thing is that Drake is a good receiver - not using him this way gives the defense one less thing to worry about. Drake has been a fairly elusive back over the years - using him as more of a banger does not suit his strengths. He’s being used like he is LeGarrette Blount. I think they are both decent backs - just not in a ver
  2. Anyone have any idea of how susceptible and injury like this is to re-injury? Is a big hit to the thigh going to knock him out again? Is the risk minimal, is it 50/50? i can’t sit him because if he’s healthy he could be the top scorer this week, but I am concerned about him getting hurt again, and about the injury affecting his mobility. Boom or bust tonight I think.
  3. Respectfully disagree here. I own both. I think you are right that JT is a better athlete, but Robinson looks like a better RB. He seems to have a knack for finding the hole and maximizing each touch. JT has started to look a bit better in this regard, but Robinson does it game in and game out. Here’s hoping that JT has figured things out and has a monster 3 game stretch.
  4. Agreed. You wouldn’t make someone a saint just because he lived to be 125 and was a pretty nice guy for the entire time.
  5. It is really surprising - especially when considering: 1. CEH is an excellent receiver 2. Kareem Hunt and Damien Williams both were used effectively in the passing game. 3. Defenses can’t afford to pay much attention to CEH coming out of the backfield with so many weapons in KC. Who knows. Damian Williams exploded just in time for the 2018 playoffs. Maybe CEH will as well.
  6. 100%! They could run the ball successfully, but they don’t really need to.
  7. Rivers has looked cooked his entire career - it’s just how he looks. He outperforms his appearance.
  8. He’s getting Drake’s touches. Same lack of creativity, same lack of use in the passing game.
  9. Fair points. The truth might be that in a contest between Buffalo and KC, the Buffalo D really does not have a “winning” strategy - every strategy is a bust. The alternative is to let Mahomes beat you. Everyone knows how that ends. I know MOP and others disagree, but I do believe that Buffalo had a chance to win that game despite being completely outclassed. If Buffalo had allowed Mahomes to do Mahomes things maybe it wouldn’t have been as close. It certainly didn’t look like the Buffalo offense was up for a shootout.

  11. Respectfully disagree with this assessment. For such a one sided game it is remarkable that the outcome actually was in doubt. KC was only up by 6 late in the 4th. They had a fumble scare, and then had to convert a 3rd and 12 to keep the drive going - otherwise Buffalo would have had the ball, momentum, and a chance to win. I think that the fact that the game was close could bode well for CEH. Buffalo was determined not to let Mahomes dominate. They let KC dominate the line of scrimmage - most of CEH runs came with 6 or fewer men in the box. As poorly as Buffalo played they stil
  12. They scored a touchdown on every goal to go situation this year, and on over 80% of red zone drives - 2nd best in league. Whatever they are doing, it’s been working.
  13. Conditions were not that bad - at least not for most of the game. That’s not the main reason they were running. They were running because the Buffalo D line was being pushed back every single play and massive holes were opening up. NFL teams can pass in that weather - rain and light wind. Mahomes said as much after the game - that they ran because of what the defense was doing.
  14. Funny game. For all of their domination KC could have lost it. I think I’m more comfortable seeing Mahomes getting in rhythm, slinging it, and finishing drives. Honestly don’t know how they didn’t manage to score more with the offensive line so completely dominant. Even the backup RBs managed to look pretty good - though clearly not as good as CEH.
  15. Feels like the Chiefs should be up 40-3. Game is closer than it should be.
  16. Probably. He’s getting massive holes and he looks explosive. He could bust a long TD.
  17. Maybe, but he’ll have to do it with the same type of workload and role he has had - I don’t see the Chiefs going out of their way to create a CEH statement game - there is no incentive to do so. I expect his usual very good but not great stats.
  18. You are not giving the people in this thread enough credit. Everyone here realizes that there is uncertainty. We are all just trying to figure out the most likely outcome - just like with every other Fantasy Football decision. Why did you draft Elliott over Kamara? Why was Watson taken over J Allen? Should we all just admit we don’t know what we’re doing? Or do we realize that there is a range of outcomes, and sometimes we will be wrong. Performance, coaching decisions, competition, injuries, all come into play - the fun of this is trying to figure it out - to put yourself in the good side
  19. I agree with this. When Edmonds is put in the same situations as Drake (tight formations, 2 TE, < 3 WR, etc) his performance has been no better. Arizona’s offense has not been effective in these situations. Some fantasy players look at Edmonds numbers and assume he is outplaying Drake, but he isn’t. I own both - I would be happy for either to “win the job”, but I don’t think that will happen.
  20. Yeah, I agree that if the opportunity is there going to KC is a no brainier. But if he is told there will be very few carries, I don’t think he will go. It is not about winning, it’s about rebuilding his value. I do understand your point about 28 being old for a RB, but I’d be surprised if Bell didn’t think there was the potential for another decent contract in the future - and the only way to increase the value of that contract is to perform now. I say this with humility, of course, I realize I could be wrong!
  21. I don’t think this is correct. The primary motivation for Bell is not “winning”, nor should it be - this is his career. He needs to set himself up for one final payday. He needs to go to a team where he can get snaps in a competent offense - so he can show that he is still a capable NFL RB.
  22. Huh? Of course there won’t be a bidding war -that’s the whole point. There’s little financial risk. Teams will want to see what he has left because the cost is low, Bell will want to try to find a team where he can get snaps to prove himself for his next contract. Obviously he’ll sign somewhere quickly.
  23. He did - it was one game against the Giants -3 TDs. Drake was also excellent in has time as the bell cow. Perhaps there is some variability here that can’t be explained away with convenient explanations like such and such is a plodding jag or such and such isn’t durable enough. Maybe the varied usage of Edmonds means the defense can’t key in the run. In situations where Edmonds has run on 1st and 2nd down he actually has a lower YPC than Drake. This perceived difference between the two could be situational. Im not feigning certainty, just suggesting that this is complex.
  24. Im happy about the touches, disappointed with his production to date, but optimistic about the rest of the season. In a prolific offense where he is not the focus of the defense I’d have expected better efficiency and more TDs. This could be due to the play calling, the defenses they have played against, a learning curve...we will see. I’d like to see him punch in a goal line opportunity in the next week or two!
  25. Everyone already knows this about Reid. But next time - next time Andy Reid gets creative it will open up the run! Honestly, the run probably is there, but they can pretty much score however they want to. It’d be nice to see CEH get the type of usage that Damien Williams got in the playoffs last year. He might not get it this year though. His lack of TDs is not a statistical fluke that will automatically correct itself - he isn’t getting the touches there.
