Unreal.  Based on whatever formula he used I can't see him winning consistently. Frankly I don't even know how he could have won with this team even though he obviously did.

He drafted 14 players in the top 100 on the Razzball player rater (with an additional 3 just outside the top 100). In a 14 team league that’s pretty damn impressive. I’m not sure what you’re looking at. He got great value at just about every pick in his draft.

Great call, unfortunately he's not in the Yahoo! pool, and they didn't even bother to add him overnight. Probably will be forced to after his nice outing today, going to coast to an easy win with great Ks and ratios through 5 innings. Kudos if you picked him up and ran him out in your league! I wouldn't go to the well twice with their call up Riley O'Brien for tomorrow, he was pretty mediocre in AAA this year. Cool to have 2 rookies debut in back-to-back games, the article mentions the last time it happened for the Reds was in April 2017 with Rookie Davis (yep) and the villainous Amir Garrett the following day. As for O'Brien's 2021 debut, he's not facing Pittsburgh, either, this is a weird one-game make-up, and I'd rather look at Alec Mills tomorrow against the Pirates. Later in the week, Dakota Hudson should be a good bulk/sneaky W play if they announce Flaherty as an opener for the weekend series against the Cubs. But I'm definitely going to grab Sanmartin if Yahoo! decides to get off their butt and put him in the player pool!

Yeah, I picked him up and started him in 8 Fantrax leagues so I’m feeling pretty good about it right now.

  3. Also, in my post above I referenced a rookie Reds pitcher making his debut tomorrow. It turns out he’s kind of interesting….

Pirates have a 79 wRC+ against lefties and if he pitches well tomorrow against them he’d probably go again on Sunday against them as well. I might be committing fantasy suicide by throwing him out there during the most important week of the year but I’m putting some serious thought into it. Maybe 10 innings, 10-11k’s, a win, and decent ratios if things pan out? Someone talk some sense into me.

  4. Final week of the season! Good luck to anyone still grinding. My waiver wire adds for the week:

    1. Harrison Bader - he’s been on fire of late and has been feasting against the Cubs all season. Will square off against them in the final series of the year.

    2. Andres Gimenez - showing off his power stroke of late with 3 HRs over the last 7 games, Indians play 7 games this week against the Royals and Rangers with 6 of 7 coming against below average righties.

    3. Yoshi Tsutsugo - Pirates also have 7 games this week, 3 against the Cubs and 4 against the Reds, including a rookie I’ve never heard of making his debut tomorrow.

    Who's starting Framber today?

Oakland put up 14 runs last night, and in Framber's only appearance against them (July 6) he gave up 10 hits and 5 ERs.  Should I be as nervous as I am?

It’s not a great start for him (I’d consider it slightly below average) and he certainly hasn’t earned set and forget status with his 2nd half, so I think he’s benchable in certain formats and in certain league contexts. In my daily roto league with an innings limit, he’ll be on my bench but in my weeklies he’s already locked in since it was a 2-start week, so go Framber!

My name is Jeff. Love this guy and if you have an IR spot it's time to stash.

You only add him if you have IR. That much should not need to be said.

My name is Jeff Jr! Also love this guy, I drafted him with my last round pick and moved him directly to my IR spot.

Great option to have for bye week and late season injuries and cost you nothing if you have the IR slot.

I think he is a great stash for those that can plug him into a spot that does not use bench space.

I think he is a no-brainer pickup especially with the IR spot.

Totally agree if you have an unused IR spot put him in there. But it gets trickier if you have to use a roster spot. I'm not pulling the trigger quite yet although he's on my watch list.

Picked up and put in the ole' IR Slot. Would love him to be a leeeeeeeauge winner!

So just to be clear, he’s worth picking up and stashing if you have an IR slot??

    Anyone trusting Framber tonight ?

I am for two reasons: 1. Astros are a big favorite (-210). 2. Angels are 26th in walk rate. While they’re in the middle of the pack in most hitting categories, they’re not a very patient team which would pose problems for Framber.

    Sneaky two start pitchers?

Jon Lester! He’s been really solid over the last month and gets the Brewers and Cubs this week. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m starting him in about a half dozen weekly leagues. Go Lester!

    Weekly league...

Thoughts on putting him in your lineup this week?  I'd hate to lose an entire week's stats if he goes on the DL and/or plays only 1 or 2 games.

I’m waiting until closer to game time to make the decision. I suspect there’ll be some news later in the day.
