  1. That's fair, but at least with Reyes he has had big league success not just in ST. The bigger issue is the average, if he hits .260+ he's a top 25 player, if he hits .230-.240, he drops significantly.
  2. I agree with this. It sucks, but the need to avoid large groups together in a confined environment is becoming increasingly apparent.
  3. 'General soreness' is pretty vague. Color me skeptical, but knee pain isn't generally something without an underlying issue so this may be more serious than initially thought. Could be meniscus related or some kind of tendinits/bursitis issue.
  4. See mine from January. He's giving every reason to believe this.
  5. Who becomes the 5th starter then Valdez?
  6. I think Davis was mostly to DH. It might free up some ABs for Dwight Smith Jr., possibly Ryan McKenna gets a longer look out of spring training.
  7. Solak was going to get regular ABs, whether at 3B or in a multi-utility role, regardless of this injury. He seems the most likely to benefit from an everyday job, no matter what now. On the injury front, the one thing I think we might not want to lose sight on is how this impacts Calhoun's mental psyche when he comes back. IMO, Heyward was never the same after he got hit. Just something to keep in mind.
  8. Agree with @Cmilne23. Here is an article from the Baltimore Sun: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/bs-sp-orioles-trey-mancini-reaction-20200308-hndihd4p2vct5f4ptot4xeeha4-story.html Sounds like a guy we can all get behind. Hope this is just a small blip in a long life for Trey.
  9. Hey guys... just saw the following: @ZackMeisel Follow-up imaging on Oscar Mercado’s wrist confirmed a mild sprain. He remains day to day. 9:59 AM · Mar 7, 2020·Twitter for iPhone
  10. He noted that it was feeling better today. Hopefully just a sprain. As mentioned going for an MRI, but he is also going to visit a hand specialist per Cleveland.com article. Supposed to have an update tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
  11. They may also look to move Andujar to acquire an arm.
  12. Hopefully not. Expectations were high and he started out hot then got hurt. Doesn't seem to get the same love like fellow youngsters like Luciano, Robinson, etc., on the Top 100 lists. If you can get him at a discount, he's a nice 'buy-low' candidate, imo.
  13. Outlook? He will be hit by many pitches this year.
  14. Enjoyed the rankings. Wonder what led to Aquino's ranking though? Is he even going to get a starting gig at this point?
  15. I'm not going to lie. This move is not the best for Betts, but it's not the worst either. Let's be realistic. His HRs are likely going down and I would have some concern for his RBI numbers too. Still, he will be valuable, but I would move him down with his present outlook.
  16. Anything on the locals out of Boston as to whether or not anything is imminent? Surprised based on the RW blurbs that believed a deal would likely be announced yesterday or today.
  17. The size has always been a concern. I think the Yanks will continue to groom him as a starter until there is reason to move him to the pen. He struggled a bit at AAA, which his age relative to the league, is understandable. For sure, he needs to sharpen his control moving forward, but the stuff has been nasty and to date he has shown the ability to at least pitch 5+ innings.
  18. My interpretation of the comments was that he will begin the season as a starter, not that he is a lock to make their starting rotation. And if he doesn't make the team, he will go back down to AAA and pitch as a starter as opposed to being put in the A's bullpen.
  19. Marlins would really need breakouts from Brinson and Diaz, among others to sniff .500, imo. Arguably, they will play in the most competitive division this year (Nats, Phils, Braves and even the Mets look solid) so there won't be many gimme wins either. As noted, all is not lost they do have some good young talent that could help them in the near future. Still, without some really strong FA signings and breakouts by younger guys they are not likely competing for anything meaningful (title/wild card) in this division in the next 2-3 years, imo.
  20. Surprised by this signing as well, more because they already signed the Japanese FA. Perhaps, they did not think he would last this long and at a discounted rate versus what they thought they would have to pay. There remain a lot of unknowns. How good is the Japanese guy they signed, do they trade Senzel (now being reported on the trade block per RW). I wonder if they value Aquino ahead of Winker? Right now, it is all speculative. Hopefully a trade happens to free-up playing time for him in Cincy, or he is the one that gets dealt.
  21. Jays are still paying Tulo this year, I believe, so I would also nominate him.
  22. That's not a real strong strategy, imo. I agree, power is becoming easier, but that doesn't mean you should just ignore him. It just means that you will need a higher average/speed in other position categories. Point being, I understand the logic but I still think it depends on the price you are paying for same.
  23. Did Lowe play enough OF to qualify in Yahoo? I see him listed as a 2B on his Yahoo page, but I don't actually see the draft area where it might list his other positions.
  24. Deivi Garcia - Yanks (they were close to promoting him last year, so I would anticipate he will be up soon) AJ Puk - A's (I'm assuming that Luzardo starts the year in the rotation. I suspect that Puk needs some further seasoning, but if he hits the ground running the A's won't hesitate to bring him up) Carter Kieboom - Nats (depending on whether or not he has a job out of ST, if he goes down, I would anticipate he would be one of the first guys called up if injury/performance dictate it) Jazz Chisholm - Marlins (He might need more time in the minors, but a hot start coupled by
