Ah got it. Thanks! I'm generally annoyed by change. But all things considered I don't think this change is that bad.

So is it correct that clicking on topic doesn't bring you to "last read"? You need to click last page and scroll down?

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but last year was when Reed became a household name. I don't recall seeing him on many top prospect lists until the middle of last season. Giolito on the other hand I've heard hyped up for a very long time. I do see the parallel in that I have no huge concerns about Reed.this is like the giolito thread from a month ago. giolito has and always was a stud pitching prospect and reed has and always will be a stud hitting prospect. a little adversity in a small sample size at a new level doesnt change that.
True, but important to remember that prospect lists are about tools. Things like baserunning and defense are also weighed. Who's the last top prospect who was 1B? I honestly don't remember. But Goldschmidt was famously absent from many, and Keith Law thought he'd be a platoon bat because of concerns hitting LHP. So really hard to compare.

Did it say how long he'll be working on it?Evan Gattis sent to minors to work on playing catcher. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
This article speculates the corresponding move is activating Sipp from paternity leave and Gattis down not much longer than the 10 days required.

Seems nothing imminent for Reed.

"As of this writing, Astros designated hitters are not making good on their positional title, batting a combined .195/.268/.345. Their first baseman are not doing much better, hitting .204/.259/.408. These offense-first positions have generated 14 runs, 7 home runs, and 21 RBI in 205 PA for the Astros. And, believe it or not, these numbers may actually diminish the dismal production the team has received. Tyler White hit .667 with 3 HR and 9 RBI in his first five games; since then, he's batting .125/.209/.243 with 2 HR and 5 RBI - that's a twenty game stretch of well below replacement-level production."

Anyone know if he has any split issues? Fangraphs doesn't show splits in minors. Wondering if he'll get babied and sit v. Some/many LHP once he gets the call.

Today, I'm listening to Prince. A great guitar player, singer, dancer, writer...he did it all. Truly no peer.

#Astros prospect AJ Reed has hit his 3rd HR of the season, a 2-run shot to RF, to give Triple-A Fresno a 2-0 lead in 1st vs. Las Vegas. #BBN

okay i'm trying not to get ahead of myself, but say he comes up around super 2, worst case a month after, can he realistically make a push for top 35 SP status? or am I being too gun shy here? dare I say the upside is even better right now this season?
will he be on any sort of innings cap? if so, then would the nats delay his call up to ensure he is good to go until september?
120 IP last year between A+ and AA. He'll certainly be on an innings cap this season. So IMO no way he's making any type of push as a top SP this season.
My guess is 150-160 IP this season, a September call, with an eye toward 2017 and 180-190 IP.

^Sorry. Edit after looking. Butler was 20 in AA. I know you didn't make comp, just clarifying.

FTR, this shouldn't come as a surprise. White isn't anything but a placeholder. This was a good write up of situation earlier this month:
"It seems pretty likely that the team declined to pursue a veteran alternative this winter because they wanted to leave room for Reed, and its widely assumed that hell be taking a spot in the line-up as soon as he proves hes ready for a job, regardless of what Singleton or Gattis are doing. But because he only has a half season of Double-A ball under his belt, and no time in Triple-A, it seems certain that the team will send him to the minors to begin the year, letting him get a bit more seasoning while they wait for at least the service time deadline to pass."

White isn't just a "placeholder". All he's done his entire career is hit, and there are no indications that he won't continue to do so.
Billy Butler is his absolute upside.
Negative glove, so that won't keep him up (unlike a guy like Smoak)
Already 25, so has been older at each stop (22 in rookie ball). For reference, Billy Butler was mashing AA at 21 & 22.
We'll have to agree to disagree here.

Was looking forward to seeing my first Reed AB live in this pre season game. 1st hit, double off Harvey, problem is White hit a double before him...but not a huge problem.

Anyone want to give away their secrets?
In all my leagues there is always one or two people who IMMEDIATELY grab new closers within minutes of a closer being injured or demoted or traded.
Play in a league that has a waiver system more complex than "First one to the computer wins"?

My issue with any fantasy resource is they're always geared toward standard 5 x 5. We use different categories (like K/BB instead of Ks) which can change value dramatically. Anyone have a great resource which is customizable?

KD puts his foot in his twitter and has to delete these posts because he was getting killed. Jealousy isn't a kind look on most....
For saying George > Leonard and that the system (and greatest coach in the game) helps him?
I was expecting something bad about LBJ. This looks nothing like jealousy to me. Looks like knowledgeable basketball conversation.
Timing, my man....timing. If you don't get it, you don't get it.
Meh. He didn't just randomly throw it out there. If he did I'd agree. It was in convo and he was asked. Big difference IMO.

I wonder if LeBron has consulted some of the WNBA stars to ask them how they play through cramps.

Spoelstra: "He was burning through his fluids and calories at an extraordinary rate…He was taking cramping pills, electrolytes."
I was wondering how the Heat could be so ill-prepared. It seems they did have some Midol handy for when LeBron starts cramping up.

Obviously he's suggesting he got insight but he can't share from who. I think it's definitely plausible. I'm buying.
