  1. Dude is starting to mash, guys. Had 4 batted balls hit over 105 mph exit velo the other day, and somehow got only one hit out of it. .450 xwOBA over his last 50 plate appearances too. [Removed Cool Story]
  2. What's interesting is that he's still posting great Exit Velo numbers (2nd in all of baseball last year at 95.3 avg, 12th best so far this year at 94.1). He may be 35 but it seems pretty clear his bat speed hasn't declined in any appreciable way. It also seemed like last season he had a lot going on in his personal life that was weighing on him like issues with his family regarding the crisis in Venezuela, and a paternity suit. I read that the legal issues are settled and he seems to be under a lot less stress now, which hopefully has an effect on his play. As long as his back injuries don't flare up I see him having a bounce back year.
  3. Sooo as hyped as we are on this guy, after 8 MLB innings it would be crazy to start him against Boston, right? In the fantasy playoffs no less...
  4. So you mean to take the Altuve side right? Just making sure haha. I'd stick with Lindor/Cabrera.
  5. ESPN points league. I'd be giving up Kershaw and Arrieta. Godley would also be tossed in but I'd drop him obviously. Normally I probably wouldn't make this trade but I am in pretty desperate with Schoop at 2b, but I did just pick up Kinsler who has started to heat up. I'm stacked at SP with Kershaw, Cole, Paxton, Arrieta, Beuhler (and Stripling using up an RP spot since he has RP eligibility). I really don't have any other holes in my lineup outside of 2B, and with Arrieta not striking anyone out anymore there are a couple options on the wire that have outscored him so far this year (Roark and Gibson, and Heaney has outscored him on a per start basis). I feel a little crazy considering this deal but thinking objectively it appears that it would improve my team overall. Thoughts?
  6. Is anyone back on board after this start against Washington? I didn't get to see the game but checked his average velocity for the game and it was actually down to the lowest it's been all season (90.7 mph, his second worst was 91.32 mph on 8/18 according to Brooks Baseball). I know velocity isn't everything but I was really hoping to see a little spike for this game, given the great results.
