I thought about picking him up. Pitches for a good team in a pitcher's park. I looked at his underlying stats on Fangraphs though. Didn't seem that impressive. Low Swstr rate and high LD rate (not counting yesterday) was 27%! EV is 91, which seems pretty high.

FG stats have led me astray before though (like Alex Cobb). Who knows. Might be good and not just lucky. HR/FB ratio well under 10% despite high average EV. Luck or skill? Does that normalize?

34 to 5 K/B ratio damn impressive though.

Not they get everything right, but pitchers list isn’t so hot on him either. But he’s been pitching good as of late, use him until the wheels come off

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me one thousand times times shame on me. To partially borrow a line from the Talking Heads' song "Once in a Lifetime", I think Pivetta's the same as he ever was.

He wasn't that bad yesterday. Streaming him this week has so far paid off. But ROS, I don't trust him.

COVID might have gotten him hard.   As a Burnes owner this concerns me.  Supposedly these new strains cause more issues.

He had gotten his first dose of the vaccine, I know that doesn't give you immunity, but I thought it still will prevent severe symptoms. Either way, I hope he gets better.

  4. Well Jared Walsh, you are officially my third OF with yelich out with a bad back the whole effing year. I hope he does plenty squats, deadlifts and crunchs to keep that core and tush strong to prevent a back injury.

  5. Needs to have a thread cause he is about a month away from returning. My body is ready.

Noah Syndergaard (elbow) pitched two innings in a simulated game on Tuesday in Port St. Lucie.

More good news on the pitching side for the Mets. It's unclear when Syndergaard will begin an official minor league rehab assignment as he returns from Tommy John surgery, but it can't be far off. He should be back at some point in June, so fantasy managers need to stash if they haven't already.

I’m pretty sure the bigger issue is the increasing use of off speed stuff in younger arms. But I could be mistaken and the larger point is the same as what you all said

They are also pitching all year round. Older players said they would play other sports in the off season and not even pick up a baseball until early spring.

Any word on when his next start will be? Figure this may be a true skipped start, but also reading speculation he could still pitch in this series against the Rays.

Yahoo has him a probable starter going against the dodgers. I know that doesn't mean much, but that's the only info I have seen so far.

  8. Nolan Arenado hit a three-run homer Monday in the Cardinals' narrow 6-5 victory over the Mets.

Arenado has six hits, five for extra bases, in his last four games, pushing his OPS back up to .821. The homer was his fifth in 123 plate appearances this season. He's driven in 21 runs through 29 games.

He's starting to get going as of late.
