just curious without an injury who they'd bump out to make room, we shall see!

Dylan Cease, I have no real reason for picking him other than him possibly have the worst stats on the staff come late in the season.

    what happens mid-season?

He'll probably be put in the rotation mid season or at the end of the year for the playoffs. He hasn't pitched in two years, and the Sox are contenders this year. They likely want him in the rotation at some point to compete, but not early in the season and use all his bullets early on. He's likely not gonna be able to pitch much more than 120 innings this year.

Love the player just not sure of his value this season outside of someone in the current rotation being injured or performing so badly that they are forced to make a change.

Or, are they going to a 6-man rotation?

Might just go back to middle relief.

That's the most likely scenario until mid season

Flu like symptoms used to be the official “hungover” designation. Now it’s Covid like symptoms and they can IL for a 1 day or 2 to take advantage. Don’t you kid me and think the Astros (and others) won’t take advantage all year. It’s not bad for fantasy since you can stash on IL on days they “covid like symptoms”. But mostly annoying. That said, it’s sounds like he really did get the 24 hour flu and got a a couple days of rest. Hopefully that’s it

Gonna be hard for them to take advantage of it mid summer cause roughly 70% has gotten at least their first vaccine or are fully vaccinated. But for the tine being seems like they are taking advantage of it. Or he could of really just gotten the flu

Yeah I was going to go there... but then someone couldn’t reply with it like they do to almost everything I post.

Did I go over my allotment of pretty, pretty, pretty goods? You know what is stupid? Save the dates, I don’t save dates

Altuve had it last time. I didn't hear anything about Yordan getting it. It takes two weeks after the second dose to get the full effect so he may not be there and even then you can still get it, the vaccine just dramatically reduces your odds of getting it and almost certainly prevents cases requiring hospitalization.

Baker's comments https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/yordan-alvarez-health-update.html?__twitter_impression=trues suggest he is sick. If it were vaccination side effects he would have said it. The best case is Yordan is just sick, they kept him out as a precaution and used the Covid-19 IL as a way to get a replacement player. Does he have to stay on it for the full 10 days if it is for Covid-19 reasons?

What’s weird is that this is the second time this year placed on it and he already had covid last year. Hopefully you are righty, jd martinez caught a cold and was put on the covid il for just one day.

On the 10-day IL. Maybe he has Covid-19 himself now.

Weird, I know it's possible to contract the other variants when you had already gotten it before, I thought the Astro players had at least gotten their first dose. I hope he just is feeling under the weather with his second dose?? My arm was killing me for a day and a half with just my first dose.

That’s just not reality. His career batting average on the road is .264 with 101 homers in 2300 plate appearances. That’s enough of a body of work to make his floor more like .264 (to be overly positive) with 25 homers.

Rockies hitters tend to suffer a "hangover" effect from playing their home games in Denver and then go on the road. Matt Holiday and Dj LeMahieu seemed to settle in just nicely outside of once they were away from Coors. I would put Arenado in that same class of hitters. If he falls on his face for the entire year, I'll concede that maybe he was a product of Coors the whole time.

11 home games since the trade and the sky is falling.
It’s a long season and it was baked into his draft price that he wasn’t playing in Colorado anymore.
Every year we get to see the end of days posts in April and May ‘round here and it’s nice to see the difference tradition continue.

Yeah I am not buying that his productive days are behind him, I think his floor is still about .280 and low 30-ish homers.

What do you guys think of Marcell Ozuna as a buy low? Or is he a stay-away?

This is a hard one to gage, not an owner or looking to buy him. I have owned him in the past. He is kind of odd in that he flip flops most years in terms of being good or bad. The braves as a whole, sans acuna, have started off really slow.

The guys on mlb tonight are debating who they would rather have going forward in their careers since they are the same age between Freeman and Rizzo..are you kidding me? 🤣🤣

I think the ex players turned commentators tend to be a little more diplomatic over say 'mad' dogg russo who has all the hot takes.

    lots of news today

Facing live hitters.  Is throwing fastballs and change ups (no curves?).  Is way ahead of schedule.  Wants to go faster but medical team holding him back for safety.  Will be joining rotation once he can build up to 5 innings.   They said that this will likely be 2-3 “somewhat lengthened outings” before this happens.

Lets ******** go.  I predict we see him within the month, late May probably

Super excited, gonna be a change changer for some fantasy teams' pitching staffs.
