  4. Let's assume Albies gets at least 80 PAs in AAA (80 only because I had to set the number somewhere). I went on fangraphs to view their MiLB leaders. Their data only goes back to 2006, so it's a limited sample. However, only two players have been 19 or younger, and had as many as 80 PAs in AAA or MLB 2006-16: Mike Trout & Bryce Harper Albies is obviously a completely different player but it's interesting company.
  5. I got curious. If Albies were to make it to MLB this year at 19, it'd be only the 7th such season by a MI in the last 50 years (50 PA minimum). The others were: Alex Rodriguez, Rodriguez again, Sheffield, Yount, Yount again, Renteria, and Oquendo. That ain't bad company.

    AJ Reed - 1B HOU

Assuming he's not overmatched in the PCL, I really think he'll be up the day after the Super-Two deadline, whenever that may be. I think White will be serviceable for eight or so weeks to let Reed marinate and gain confidence.

    AJ Reed - 1B HOU

Yeah, Reed's last three games in the playoffs were rough. Probably best to let the kid rest and get ready for AAA for a month or two at the beginning of next season. I think he'll be up just after the Super-2 date next season.
  8. It'll be an interesting debate for a few years on which of the three Rangers OF prospects the Phillies should've traded for. If Brinson and Mazara are remarkably better than Nick Williams, it could set that team back even further. They all three could be excellent...at this point Brinson looks best to me.

    AJ Reed - 1B HOU

By the way, Corpus Christi is in the Texas League division series, so it looks like we're not done with Reed quite yet.

    AJ Reed - 1B HOU

If Yahoo had him in the database I'd have had him two months ago. I'm in a keeper league and I'm tempted to trade a 1st and three 2nds to get the #1 overall pick next season just to ensure I get to draft him...assuming Yahoo pulls their heads out of the sand and adds him.

1.181 OPS since 5/1. It was past time by probably a month.
