  1. That K on Mauer was a work of art - both the ump’s punchout and the elevation on that ball
  2. The weather stopped him and he was pulled. 2ip No walks 4ks. That is perhaps the best start he could’ve had. Both for confidence and to give the management some faith the bb’s are a thing of the past. If it is an inning limit, he can follow glasnow’s case and build progressively off each start
  3. Like Glasnow, if Kopech can keep the walks down and ks up, this guy can help you down the stretch to a championship.
  4. Kopech called up for his Tuesday start!
  5. Justus Sheffield will play for the Yankees some time this season, Brian Cashman told Mike Francesa in a Wednesday interview on WFAN. stash him while ya can
  6. 7ip 5h 0er 0bb 9k on last night’s start. Really knocking on the door. Eloy also homered that same game
  7. Sheffield has a 1.71 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 51:18 K:BB in 52.2 innings over his last 10 starts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He has really turned things on of late, and currently has a streak of six straight starts where he has allowed one run or less. Sheffield still walks a few too many batters, but opposing hitters are hitting just .191 against him this year and he has given up three home runs in 102 innings, which has allowed him to prevent runs at an excellent clip. Had his schedule lined up, Sheffield may have received a callup over Chance Adams for the spot start Aug. 4, but things
  8. With Giolito continuing to implode (to the tune of 7er last night), it would be nice of the white Sox to swap him with Kopech in the minors...we’ll see
  9. “...Similarly, Michael Kopech seems to have reached the point where the case for keeping him in the minors is not very easy to make. "It's been an interesting season," Getz said. "It hasn't been completely smooth (for Kopech), but that's a good thing. He's in a good spot right now. "He's commanding his fastball the best he has. He's differentiating his breaking pitches. He's getting more consistent with those. He's getting more confident with his changeup. "Michael is a very confident player and we feel that he's going to be an impactful-type starter in the major l
  10. 7ip 4h 2runs 2bb 8k last night he might get called up soon at this rate
  11. Wont be *. If we went from de Grom, he would’ve def been dealt
  12. Justus Sheffield has been named the #1 prospect of the NYY. The deal with Happ is good - it means we most likely be trading Sheffield
  13. Posted 15 hours ago by a local NY paper: https://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/yankees-subway-series-1.20052197 “If the Yankees fail to trade for a starter before the trade deadline, Aaron Boone said, the Yankees will give serious consideration to promoting pitching prospect Justus Sheffield in the second half of the season. “I would say Shef is very much [in the mix],” Boone said when asked if Sheffield could contribute immediately, the way Luis Severino did when he was called up in 2015. Sheffield has “had another really good year. He’s putting himself
  14. He is the Yankees best pitching prospect. Trading him would be a travesty for the Yankees , synonymous trading Sevy in 2015
  15. Holding onto him for two weeks or so. I have Efflin coming off the DL but I am willing to keep him DL’d since he is playing Boston... this time of year it is tough to keep pitching prospects if they aren’t promoted right after the All star break. Bright side is that the Yankees aren’t afraid of promoting pitchers to join the rotation and a trade possibility still on the table...as a yankee fan i hope they keep him. If he wasn’t injured earlier this season, prob would’ve been promoted by now.
