  1. Let's be honest, he stunk it up.  However, most top prospects, play more regularly, than getting 5 starts in 10 games.  Also, at least in the minors, he had better numbers vs. RHP.  So, what do they do?  Start him exclusively, against lefties.  While it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference, they certainly didn't attempt to make the transition, a smooth one.

I watched his ABs in yesterdays games and in todays first AB....

From my point of view, the problem is simple. He's either not being coached correctly or he's getting too much into his own head.

He's having the very same problem all the Yankees hitters have had this entire season. He's guessing at every pitch instead of using his instincts. You can see it almost every AB...He's guessing on whether they're going to throw him a breaking ball or slider as opposed to a fastball. The problem is that he's guessing incorrectly almost every time.

Like today's first AB....they went after him hard yesterday with breaking balls and sliders, pitches where the bottoms fell out....In a 3-2 count today, he assumed Gomber was going to throw him another one, and Gomber basically told his catcher, "I'm throwing a fastball right down the middle".....

And Kelenic (guessing COMPLETELY WRONG), decided that he just wasn't going to swing at anything assuming it was going to be a slider or breaking ball that would drop out of the zone...and Gomber through it dead center of the plate and caught Kelenic straight looking.

Now whether SEA coaching staff is training him or telling him to "not swing at certain things" or whether it's Kelenic himself getting into his own head....I think he just needs to not worry about striking out as much, and just go for the pitches he knows he can hit. The guys a great hitter, but right now, it's a guessing game, and he's losing the guessing game.

Agreed.  He's beyond tentative.  And when he guesses, he's always wrong.  I wouldn't go to Vegas, with this guy.  Not one of his at bats, look natural or instinctual.  They all look like he's bound by some hidden/restrictive force.  He never looks confident, at the plate.

Had a solid series against Atlanta including a nice, majestic 411 HR to straightaway center. Interestingly, all three of his HRs have come RH when he historically has hit almost all of his HRs lefty prior to this season. He hasn’t been good, and he is striking out way more than I thought he would, but for a 20 year old who is a young 20 at that and the youngest player in the majors, he could be doing a lot worse. I think you’ll see him have a very respectable second half as he learns to adjust to MLB pitching.

That start will have to wait a day, as he's not in the lineup.

  4. Counsell calls Keston into his office.

Counsell:  Keston, I've got good news and bad news.

    Keston:  Ok, skip.

Counsell:  We traded for lefty 1B.  However, on the bright side, you're in the lineup tonight......... against the GOAT

Really struggling to hold onto Luzardo... his pedigree is elite but his performance has been very poor. I could see him being a nice post hype sleeper a year or so down the road but I just don't know if he's ready to be a viable fantasy option in 2021

Dropped him last night.  He currently, has no command,  And when he's in the zone, it's in a very hittable location.  While he's obviously talented, I just don't see anything resembling consistency.  I'm sure he'll have a few ups, followed by other outings that will destroy your ratios.  In time, maybe.  But, not in 2021.

Anyone throwing him out there against CWS? He's got the extra rest they thought might have been a problem his last outing. How do you think he performs tonight?

Please enlighten me.... why is he the worst hitting coach? Also you think this guy can screw with Kellenic’s rookie batting numbers?

for everyone else.... you think he’s everyday player ROS? And why do huh think his range of outcomes is for a 162-game pace this season?

Ronald Acuña Jr. was diagnosed with a left pinky finger contusion.

X-Rays have already come back negative after Acuña was plunked by a 98 mph fastball from the right arm of Sam Coonrod. The superstar outfielder is considered day-to-day, and while he may miss a couple of days, it does sound like the 23-year-old has avoided a significant injury. Don't be surprised if Acuña is out of the lineup on Sunday, however, for the contest against the Phillies.

He was obviously in pain after a dive back to first on a pickoff attempt. Trainers checked on him and left him in. A walk and a hit later, and he was superman diving into home to score which wasn't ideal given his sore/hurt stomach. Not sure what was the issue as he was def grabbing at his belly button area when he first injured himself.

Saw that.  Am hoping, he was just really hungry.
