  1. Mata was a guy I liked, but the UCL tear really has me more tepid now.
  2. What are you reading suggesting hunter wood is next in line? Sources please!
  3. My only frame of reference is Brett Anderson, 3 months.
  4. Do you really care about spring training ERA?
  5. too many walks and not enough Ks last year, many other dart throws I prefer right now. Would need to see those numbers start to reverse before I buy in, personally.
  6. sandy is nasty. Elieser hernandez and pablo lopez are nasty too and will be cheaper. Fan of the whole marlins rotation right now.
  7. bard's leash can't be that long, oberg's probably the better pitcher. not that always matters with the way managers chose closers.
  8. Quick hits: Workhorse in 2019, 200+ innings, 200Ks, 3.59 ERA. Horrible 2020 with era north of 5. Velocity loss for most of 2020 season. Brooks baseball had him down to 91 mph. Was at about a 93 avg in 2019. Hitting 94 mph this spring. Flyball pitcher. Flyball stadium in KC. Dead ball. Huge bounceback candidate and inexpensive because of the really bad 2020.
  9. pretty huge regression candidate with a deadened ball and weak statcast profile. Near bottom of the league in ev, hard hit, barrles, xBA, xwOBA, and xSLG. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/cavan-biggio-624415?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
  10. His stat cast is really bizarre. Horrible hard hit% and exit velocity, but positive xBA, xwOBA, and xSLG. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/ty-france-664034?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb no idea what to make of France, especially with the dead ball. gun to my head I think he’s a .300 hitter and every day player, but maybe only a 15 hr guy.
  11. I think it will be cesar valdez now, although it's definitely up in the air.
  12. not missing anything, just a vlad hate circle jerk.
  13. Pretty funny to me that people are sh***ing up this thread about Vlad's purported lack of effort when he's come into camp having a lost a bunch of weight.
  14. I like him a lot because of SP eligibility but he’s supposedly going to use the slider less this year. https://www.knbr.com/2021/02/20/new-giants-reliever-wants-to-slightly-back-off-his-dominant-pitch/
  15. Even without knowing the details of your league, how many keepers, etc....you're still gonna look back to this moment and feel the agony of a catastrophically bad decision.
  16. Has had a horrible MLB career so far, 68 innings, 8.07 era, 2.13 whip, -1.5% k-bb. Negative k-bb. Without drawing too many conclusions re the era/whip (korean league quality of bats is less than MLB, even if korean league skews towards offense), these are the numbers he put up: 116.2 IP, 3.01 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 28% K, 6.4% BB, 21.6% K-BB I care about the K-BB% because that may be the first sign that he's improved his control/command and not just beaten up on inferior competition. He will be starting this year for the Mariners. Spring training stats are even more irrelevant than
  17. I’m surprised you are quitting fantasy baseball after this long. Been doing baseball over a decade and football over two decades and can confidently say I will do both until I die. If daily is too much of a grind you can do weekly! Just very surprised, what happened? Fell out of love with the game?
  18. scoreless outing for oberg in return from blood clots. hasn't pitched since 2019 but has a chance to close for rox. https://www.mlb.com/video/scott-olberg-s-scoreless-outing?q=Player%20%3D%20%5B%22Scott%20Oberg%22%5D%20Order%20By%20Timestamp%20DESC&cp=CMS_FIRST harvey injured in baltimore, scott and valdez prob leading chances for saves if he's seriously hurt.
  19. Disagree, this is a blessing for those who haven’t drafted yet. Mild hamstring is like 3 or 4 weeks probably. He might miss a week of season time or less for a draft discount.
  20. good in deep roto 5x5 leagues, less valuable in h2h, less valuable in shallow.
  21. Technicality of words. I think he’s brilliant, but has standalone value no matter whether closer or not. Sure he’s a handcuff too if you want to call it that.
  22. Don't consider devin williams a handcuff, but yeah he's amazing, and if hader gets traded... Think some of the kenley concerns are overblown. In the playoffs i expect the dodgers will play matchups and sometimes use starters to close, but for regular season seems like he's pretty secure. Also even if he were to falter, are you sure it's treinen and not victor g or piss poor extension graterol? bad "closer" who could lose their jobs: bard ---> oberg so many jobs are unsettled at the moment though. while i like chad green a lot, i don't see chapman ever losing his job.
  23. Ottavino and Rodriguez are looking like best two handcuffs at the moment.
