  1. Well, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times, Maddon did talk about him running more this season back in early March: If there is one phase of the game Maddon would like to see Fletcher expand, it’s on the basepaths. Fletcher has 13 stolen bases and has been caught stealing four times in 283 big league games. Maddon thinks he could be more of a base-stealing threat. “Not to where he’s going to go out there and steal 40, but more of a situational base-stealing threat,” Maddon said, “where we can take advantage of maybe a slow time to the plate, maybe a catcher that doesn’t throw [well], a combination thereof, picking a breaking ball for him to go on.” https://www.latimes.com/sports/angels/story/2021-03-03/angels-david-fletcher-leadoff-joe-maddon-mike-trout
  2. If his schedule holds, he’ll have @HOU, TB, @NYY, @BOS, @DET, @TB, KC, @TOR, TOR, DET. Good luck, everyone. I’m out ✌️
  3. Could be worth a flyer for those in deeper leagues.... Hitting .364/.423/.682 with two homers, a double, and a steal in six minor league games
  4. I’m guessing your league only has SP/RP spots. I’ve seen this happen before. He won’t show up until he earns one designation or the other. Same thing happens with UTIL only players in leagues that don’t have a UTIL slot.
  5. Haha, no problem! It definitely tripped me up the first time I used it. I kept waiting for waivers to clear (not wanting to spend my FAB, and simultaneously not knowing $0 bids were a thing), and it just never happened haha 🤦‍♂️
  6. I’m sure. Been playing in this type of league for 3-4 years now. The only way a transaction takes two days is if your league has Roster Changes set to “Daily - Tomorrow,” as opposed to the new standard in yahoo, “Daily - Today.” Continuous waivers with FAB is basically a mini blind auction (with $0 bids) that runs every night. I think it’s more fun, honestly. Just make sure you have your bids in before 3am eastern , if you want to be able to use that player the next day.
  7. Not exactly. The 2 day wait only comes into play when a player is dropped (and immediately following your draft, but that’s pretty standard). With continuous waivers, you put in a claim today, and—if you win him—he’ll be on your roster (and playable) tomorrow. It’s actually a better system once you get used to it IMO, as it eliminates the need to rush to make pickups the instant a new closer/call-up is announced.
  8. Just came across this... It’s literally the only source I could find, but she seems legit 🤷‍♂️
  9. Given that your league settings essentially devalue SPs, and since you’re already keeping two of them, I would prioritize hitters for your first several picks.
  10. From AJ Mass: Why exactly are we all buying in on Kyle Tucker? ... In his first 88 plate appearances last season, he hit .193 and in his last 81 PAs, he scraped out a .243 average. In between, he had a stellar 59 PAs where he hit .423 with five homers and 24 RBI (kick-started by a pair of games at Coors Field). Take that slice out of his 2020 and we're looking at around a 40-game sample of a guy who hit .217 with four home runs and 18 RBI. This is top 50? https://www.espn.com/fantasy/baseball/story/_/id/30984958/fantasy-baseball-roundtable-which-prominent-player-avoid-all-costs
  11. I don’t subscribe to The Athletic, so I’m not sure if this covers everything, but it seems to offer a decent explanation: https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2021/02/08/mlb-is-trying-to-de-juice-the-baseball-again/
  12. I was about to take Oakland as well, then I saw this 👇
  13. Drums, @papasmurf. And with a freaking tomahawk. These Braves don’t mess around haha
  14. Hey, no problem @bly08 I personally wouldn’t read too much into the home/road thing next year, though, as it’s more likely than not something that can be chalked up to the crazy times we’re in... like maybe he’s a bit more worried about COVID than others and it’s made him uncomfortable travelling to different cities/hotel rooms/club houses/etc... but who knows 🤷‍♂️
  15. Fair enough. I guess I’m just a bit of a glass-half-full kinda guy when it comes to players like Dansby. The home/road splits are thin, I’ll admit that, but in a crazy shortened season such as this, sometimes it’s all we have to go on... Plus my waiver wire is absolute garbage as far guys who can contribute in both power and speed, so I guess I’m just hoping that the trend holds for just one more week. Haha
  16. Well, for starters, how about the 44 game sample before this slump began? You know, the one where he was slashing .310/.375/.500 with 7 HRs, 5 SBs, 43 runs scored and 25 RBIs?
  17. True. But the 9 game skid you’d be dismissing him over is an even smaller one
  18. Aside from hitting 4 HRs he’s been pretty brutal on the road this year, slashing a weak .214/.279/.359 with only a single stolen base over 29 games. In contrast, in 23 home games he’s hit .344/.422/.533 with 3 homers, 8 doubles and 4 steals. Seeing as the Braves play their final 7 games at home, I think I’m going to just cross my fingers and ride this out.
  19. Yep. Unless he was pulled for other reasons I’m not aware of... but either way, as you said, not a good sign.
