  1. Rays and their magic pixie dust at work. They lose Glasnow, no problem. They lose 10 relievers, no problem. Hell, they acquired RP Drew Rasmussen in the Adames deal and instead of a middle innings guy he has started and gone 5 innings in most of his last 5 starts and looks like he can be a useful starting pitcher going forward. Colin McHugh looks like a stud, even David Robertson is showing flashes of 2016 despite giving up a bomb Monday night. What an interesting team. Heard a guy on MLB network yesterday say the Rays would have given up Archer for ANY ONE of Glasnow, Meadows or Baz. Epic fail on every level by the former Pirates GM. With those 3 players in Pittsburgh right now there is far more immediate, short term hope to be competitive. Oh well, dead horse thing.
  2. Would like that KC pitcher to stink today, that would help.
  3. He has been literally awful, can't even beat average offenses. Needless to say I don't plan on starting him his next start out against Houston. He may not make it 3.
  4. On pace for a .300 BA, 30 homers, 20 steals despite a few weeks on IR and a very slow start in April. He hasn't even reached that ceiling yet. Fantasy gold mine and probably only going to get better. I can see a 40/30 year in his future.
  5. Hitting in the 8-hole, which is NL Siberia, however, his last 2 ABs last night he got hits, so maybe he's going to get going. It's obvious this guy is very streaky, maybe a hot one is around the corner.
  6. I would not be scared of any of these teams other than Toronto. Means is solid guy, and I think he's going to end his season on a good note, just like he did in 2019 and 2020, both times after coming back from an injury, scuffling some then getting it figured out.
  7. This is not a thread for Pittsburgh Pirates fans.
  8. Went out with some sort of (minor) shoulder injury today. As a main focal point of why my team is still participating in the post-season, I can capture the worry of 100,000 other Tucker owners.
  9. A guy who has been a legit ace for 6 weeks now helping many teams make the playoffs (including my own) is not really a waste of air. This injury is unfortunate.
  10. Blake Snell left the game injured. Could be a terrible blow to fantasy teams moving forward and to the Padres, he has been great lately.
  11. Dude is just a pure baseball player. Love this guy.
  12. Ozzie Albeis, Dansby Swanson and Daulton Varsho all got on base (Dansby twice, Ozzie once other than the homer, and Varsho once so far) and none even attempted a stolen base. I need a stolen base. Also, David Fletcher has fallen off big time, average now in the 270s. Love his new found speed, but he has been a bad hitter for a few weeks now.
  13. I think he is very much a legitimate 20/20 guy. The steals probably are not there right now because -he's hitting a lot of xbg -batting 8th too often (a black hole for stolen base chances) He will have the most unique eligibility as well, garnering CF/C roles with an outside chance at both corners. He never played AAA so a period of adjustment was to be expected, but his approach at the plate is very advanced so I am not surprised he is starting to rip.
  14. And right on cue, this kid went 3-4 with another homer tonight. Texas needs to get Jung up to AAA and Harris up to AA stat.
  15. Can't believe this kid hasn't come up in here, but check out Rangers 1B/3B prospect Dustin Harris. Came over in the Mike Minor deal from Oakland. Always a good hit tool, but the power upside was in question. He started in Low-A this year (a bit over age) and hit very well before being called up a few weeks ago and he is literally putting up video game numbers at HighA Hickory. He was a pick in 2019 and between Rookie and Short season hit for a high average, but only a couple homers. 2020 was a wash 2021 so far between Low and High A he is hitting .326 with 13 homers and 23 SBs. All of these impressive stats come with a very low strike out rate. He is absolutely wrecking high A and given his age (22) and the success no question this player needs to be moved up. Texas may have a guy here.
  16. Just wondering if I was competing, which I am, why wouldn't I want the better SP? I get going after the "lesser pitcher". I have talks with an owner for Kershaw. He would cost me one of my SPs, but I wouldn't have to give up Michael Busch or Verdugo. It would be someone like Liberatore/Manning and Ryan Vilade or Rodolfo Castro type
  17. Ray owner here, short term he's the play, rebuild long term Rogers is the play. Honestly, I like both guys, but to me your question is pretty simple. Perhaps ask for a little sweetener, I assume the guy targeting Ray is pushing for the playoffs. How important are the playoffs? See if you can get him to add a little nugget.
  18. I don't understand. Are you asking about those guys? Are they available in your league? How can we know who is still available in your league? I like Cease better than those guys, but he comes with some risks too.
  19. If health Kershaw, but that's the rub. He is coming back, if you project him to be healthy he should be great.
  20. Thanks for the feedback, I want him to give me a 2023 2nd round pick. His team is pretty good so it won't be a high 2nd I don't suspect but it just felt a bit uneasy for me. I am a huge Verdugo fan, but lets face it other than what should be a usually high average he won't wow you with steals or homers, I am thinking 20 homer/10 steals, for a CF/LF/RF guy that's credible, but not franchise altering, but some guys I just like and he's one (on a note I play two leagues and have him in both). With Pavin Smith, his versatility is as good as Verdugo and while he steals even less, there could be more power coming with him. That was always his weak point, he hit 4 homers in July which isn't mind blowing but if he could average that he's pushing 25 homers.
  21. Any explanation for Taylor Rogers stat line tonight?
  22. I have been offered Luis Castillo and Pavin Smith for Alex Verdugo and prospect Michael Busch and prospect Matt Liberatore (or Matt Manning) I am in a dog fight for the playoffs, while I have a good rotation I want Castillo to push me over. This trade seems fair doesn't it?
  23. Varsho is starting to come into shape as a young player at the big league level. He has experience at CF, C, LF, RF and even 2B. He is part of the future and this season is part of his develoment. There is no way in hell someone like Josh Reddick would take anything more than cursory at bats away from him. The ONLY thing that would keep Varsho out the lineup for a bottom feeding team (other than the occasional rest day) is if he went into a prolonged slump that would necessitate him being sent to AAA to recharge his swing (as they did earlier). Outside of that he won't be sitting behind any of those guys as the D-Backs focus on the future. I don't see that happening. Will he scuffle? Of course, it's baseball, he'll have his valleys still. Even before he heated up the signs were there he was ready to start breaking out. The contact rate got better, he appeared to be seeing the ball well. Now things are coming along for the young guy. It's great to see,
