Absolute stud, and Sabonis is injury prone, if he goes down he’d be feasting even more with extended minutes and more boards

Don't go wishing for a players injuries. Especially not when the guy you're betting on misses even more games each year.

Ayeeee!! Memories. I still follow Anthony Randolph's career. So much more potential compared to TJones and Griffin.

As for this thread, there a lot of posters commenting for the sole purpose to antagonize/ridicule Boucher fans/owners. Don't be immature, fellas. If you don't have something constructive to say, in favor or opposition, you're just contributing nonsense.

Its a shame Randolph sustained that injury a week or so ago... He was doing so well.

  3. Blazers are playing differently this year on offense. Beating the Blazers in the playoffs always follows the same recipe: trap Dame and trap him hard. His weakness is passing out of double teams, and the Blazers simply didn't have a plan B. They're now focused on getting the team used to having Dame play off the ball more. CJ is running plays, and even though he is a great ballhandler, he's not a great creator. Furthermore, the P&R between Dame and Nurk was incredible over the past seasons, and they don't run that play now as often, whereas Nurk is now dealing with CJ and to a lesser degree Ant running those plays. It takes some time to get used to, if you're changing up gameplans like that, especially considering the offseason and preseason we've had. The same goes for their defense with a lot of new players and finally some interesting schemes by Stott.

That “dude” is playing in the NBA making millions lol I don’t think he cares what a internet troll living in mommy’s basement has to say 😂

I'd say it's time for you to find your own place to live then.

However, on topic. Dillon Brooks isn't a player you want starting - simply ask Memphis Grizzlies fans. He puts up some scoring stats each year, and him saying he wants to be in the running for DPOY is one of the most laughable things I've heard from NBA players recently. It's like Bismack Biyombo saying he wants to lead the league in scoring.

Matter of fact - if the Grizzlies are serious about winning, they're already considering upgrades at Brooks' position, in order to minimize his role to a bench scorer. .

  5. You didnt mention him before tonight either?

Roby was a cut candidate and many OKC fans expected him to be gone. Not only injuries held him up, he also looked outof place during a lot of minutes he was on the court, even so in preseason. He did have a nice game this preseason though. He flashes a few nice moves every now and then.

He's got a nice allround game but isnt great at anything, just all round skilled and good agility. He'll also insert some boneheaded plays every now and then but the effort is there. He's a good passer as well, just not very disciplined. Shooting is meeeh as well, but he solves that somewhat by being a good driver (as we all saw) and being sneaky athletic, plus he hads great measurements (6-8 with a +3 of +4 wingspan). I like his fit with Bazley and SGA who have more upside - its nice to maybe get a decent role.player in place with those guys, much like Maledon and Dort.

I also noticed someone saying Roby would be competition for Bazley, but it will be Horford/Musc for Roby mostly. Eventhough he's short for the position, he looks like he could be a really useful smallball C. Maybe somewhat in the mold of a budget Green or Horford if he starts playing a bit smarter/in control the instincts are there.

Terrible break for a guy who fought his way into nba relevance. Never owned him but the injury hits close to home cuz he was in my middle school class and i've been rooting for him

fun fact, pretty sure the others in this pic are all now 5'7 or shorter lol

Really hard to root against this guy. He's had a lot of people doubt him and has fought some nasty injuries along the way. He should get a good contract next year, deservingly so.

Hartenstein and Bol Bol played 5 mins, so what? For him to post such a positive figure and for it to include a few mins of "horrible" play from guys who wound up as net positives further drives home my point. And yes they were out there with him. Of course barton rolled with jokic at times, but so did all the starters..

The takeaway wasn't  "2nd unit good 1st unit bad", it's that they once again played better when he was out there and he has been the more winning player than MPJ in all 3 games so far, as he was most of last season. I've watched them play twice, where i'm fully focused on the game dynamic unlike people who view their player's performance exclusively through the lens of how many fantasy points they received, which is the majority of rotoworld users

Barton continues to be the defender they put on the opponent's best guard while MPJ is the one who needs to be hidden on defense. Between that and WB's superior passing, anybody who actually watches the games wouldn't be wondering why Barton's held off MPJ this long. Being a gifted scorer isn't enough for max minutes on a top team

I cite +/- because it's a more telling objective metric of a player's value over time than the number of shot attempts or whatever else people get fixated on here. Barton's a perennially underrated fantasy asset and the MPJ situation highlights exactly why that keeps happening

My mention of Bol Bol and Hart was not related to Barton - just that they were horrible.

You can jump high and low, but Barton has been most efficient as a bench player, both for him as for the team - they need his play with that bench unit. I also like MPjr's effort on defense this season (so far) which makes me believe he's an even better fit with the first unit. Especially as long as Murray is somewhat struggling.

I have been 'actually' watching Denver games a lot, as a matter of fact I was at Pepsi center the last game they played with a crowd last season ... so there's that, lmao. Barton is a really decent fantasy asset who's been a Rotoworld forums darling, precisly because he plays that bench role really well. Sometimes these players are exactly what htey are and that's what makes them so valuable both in real life and fantasy.

Anyone panicking is only looking at their fantasy roster and not the full box score:

Barton was a team-high +25, despite rolling with the weaker 2nd unit. MPJ was +2. No, that doesn't mean Barton had a better fantasy line, but it moves the needle further in his direction winning over Malone's trust for the long haul (a role he established 2 or 3 years ago).

Short sightedness is the most common side effect of fantasy..

Jokic also rolled with that unit. But more importantly, what 2nd unit was Harden rolling with when the Nuggets ran up that score? Bruno, Sterling and a couple of generic 2K generated players. +/- boxscore checking is too lazy without looking into actual game dynamics. Barton is fine coming off the bench, and, barring injuries, that has been his role.

Hartenstein and Bol Bol were horrible btw.
