I think there's a big difference between a better than league average hitter and a league average hitter. One is clearly better 😂

I love what Adolis gave me in the first half, but he was utterly useless in the 2H, a detriment to your team if you played him. He hit .205 in the 2H, absolute dumpster fire.

But he was a WW pickup. He was free, you scoop him, reap the benefits of his great play, but knowing who he is you are ready to bench if he starts to tank.

No shame in that, he was really valuable to me in roto this year. You need guys like this every year to rotate through your lineup... But I have zero interest in keeping him next year.

Sorry last I checked on the league average - for purposes of Garcia - it was a little over .220.  Gave you credit for that, Steve.  You feel the need to give me a crying laughing emoji for that, fair enough - it was on me to check the (Stevie) stats.  It still changes nothing.  Have a good night, Steven.

I said not to pick him up at the beginning because he was going to fall off.  He ended up falling off (after like 3-4 weeks of doing well).  What am I missing here?  Surely you can’t expecT me to know the exact time and place he’ll fall off 😂

You admitted you were wrong, ‘god.  I again commend you for returning to the thread to admit your erroneous reasoning.  It’s a good look!

League average is .243... He is hitting .243.

But, he's been absolutely useless in the 2nd half, .205 Avg, .626 OPS. 💩

He will still be getting a ring for his contribution in the 1H this year, carried me for a little bit.

Whoa!  Stop the presses!  Ok he’s only slightly a over average - at least your username checks out.

Who cares?  My point remains the same.  He’s not a burden in that department - and he’s been an excellent contributor in most other categories.  Sorry, Stevie, it’s not a resounding riposte on your part.

To be fair he did take a beating in here for several weeks in a row, but he ended up being pretty spot on. I think a small victory lap is allowable.

I’m just going off what he himself said - now that you mention it he did seem very fixated on his batting average back in May or so.  With no regard for his other cat contributions for the most part.  You shattered my hope that he was just here to admit a mistake rather than get a round of back-slaps.  But it would be par for the course for this season, both on this forum and real life.

Ya Gordon had a 70 yard run late in the game, maybe the 4th. But the rookie got the bulk of his carries in the 4th as well.  That's the thing with Gordon, he can break a long TD run at any time - he's done it his whole career.  And Den should lean on the run this game, but I expect the D to show up as well.  He's a great play this week for sure, I just have too much depth to get him in my lineup unfortunately.  In your case i'd consider starting him over Julio just bc Tenn offense looked a mess last week.  But again a tough call for you as well.

And his HC publicly called out Julio this week

I sincerely appreciate the respectful tone that is often lacking in these discussions. I don’t mean to come off as overly harsh - blame the Miller Lites or the Tito’s I suppose.

Nevertheless, a big part of success in this activity is discerning what is from what will be. McLaurin has always struck me as someone that has repeatedly thrived in-spite of his surrounding cast.

Thanks!  Appreciate your saying so!  I love the player - and the Team - so I hope that continues.  But I wanted to salute you for saying that.

Where's this ordinary talent bs come from? Yes I know he doesn't run a 4.3 but seriously!? Most drafts he started to go around 20-32 range roughly. I've seen so many people draft busts in that range. I don't get the complaints... Really don't.

There's a ton of players that just s**t the bed last week. It's week 1 relax 😂. If he's only getting under 10 avg by week 5-6 then the discussion of ordinary can possibly begin

Have a feeling those folks will disappear once CEH starts putting up good games

DHop put up 1500 yards in 2015 with Hoyer, Mallett, Yates, & Weeden.

Like DHop, McLaurin has thrived in spite of, not because of his QB play.

If you can’t discern talent that’s on you.

Prestige, I don’t think you’re following me.  If you think McLaurin is the receiver that DeAndre Hopkins was in his prime - ok.  But I think that has yet to be determined - and in any event, going from one QB you’ve practiced with all off-season to one you haven’t four days later is cause for pause.  To reiterate, I love your faith and don’t think it’s misplaced - but I do see why people might justifiably shy away from him in this particular game.

How long have you been playing fantasy? Unless you’re talking about a loaded dynasty team odds are the choice is still made for you.

Did you bench Davante Adams when Rodgers missed time? DHop has had garbage at QB for the majority of his career. Allen Robinson thrives no matter what bum is chucking him the rock.

Barring being stupidly loaded, what wr to start is a pretty easy choice.

Davante Adams?  As in the best WR in fantasy?  No.  D-Hop?  A-Rob?  Yes, they have done well with bad QBs.  Maybe I’m confused and you are claiming he is a putative top-5 wideout?  If so, yeah, go for it.  McLaurin doesn’t have their track record, sorry.

There’s no WR with an ADP taken inside the the top 20 that I’d consider benching for any reason outside of injury at this point.

It’s fully frittata to do otherwise in week two. I never conflated Fitz with Joe Montana. I’ve dealt with Brock Lobster chucking it to Dhop, I can deal with this.

You keep saying “outside of injury” - but there was an injury.  If Tom Brady were replaced with his backup (not even sure who that is), you would still keep Evans in your lineup?  It’s always admirable until it just seems obstinate.
