  1. I'm all in on Slay this week against the Dolphins 23rd ranked passing defense.
  2. It definitely hurts the Packers run game with Hicks back. However, they played the Bears week 1. I'm willing to give LaFleur and team somewhat of a pass as it was their first game with their new head coach. Here's to hoping Jones sees 20-25 touches this week.
  3. Nope, I'm not. I'm only saying that I would like to see Jones's usage be more consistent. Maybe the game against the Chargers turns out differently if they get Jones involved in the passing game like they did the week before against the Chiefs. Maybe they beat the Eagles if they give Jones a couple of tries to punch the ball in from the goal line when they had 4 tries. Just because they are 10-3 doesn't mean we can't be critical of the team.
  4. Kerryon Johnson was averaging 16 touches per game.........
  5. Absolutely! Outside of Adams, they don't have any other dynamic playmakers. It is Jones and Adams, that's all they've got. Besides Rodgers obviously. Why you wouldn't want the ball in their hands as much as possible is beyond me. The Chargers game was especially frustrating. Jones just came off of a 7 rec for 159 yard game the week prior against the Chiefs. How you only give him 3 targets in that game is beyond me.
  6. Because the tougher defenses are hard to run against and the O-Line isn't that great. So, they try to run a handful of times, Jones gets stuffed cuz there aren't any holes, and then they let Rodgers throw it all over the place.
  7. Yup, completely agree. Early on in their careers Williams was in on 3rd downs because he was the better pass protecting back. However, I can't recall any recent plays where Jones has been in on 3rd down and missed a block which allowed Rodgers to get blown up. So, I'm not sure that is the case anymore.
  8. I don't need or want to debate as we seem to have differing opinions and that's cool. I will agree to disagree on the fact that he is more likely to stay healthy with the amount of touches he is getting now as opposed to being the bell cow. I guess I'd like to know what your definition of a "bell cow" is as you keep using that phrase. If your definition is 30 touches a game like you stated earlier, there isn't a RB in the league that is averaging 30 touches a game. McCaffrey is averaging 19 rush attempts and 8 targets per game. Just shy of that. Jones is averaging 13 carries and 4 target
  9. Just reading up on Griffin and he's in his 5th year in Tampa. He must know the system pretty well, all hope is not lost.
  10. I'm not sure anyone is calling for a 30 touch workhorse role from Jones. I know that I'm not. I'm looking for some consistency with his touches. I know there are mitigating factors that play into how many touches a player gets. But Jones should get 20 touches per game. Also, to suggest that if he were to get 25 touches a game would result in "him being injured by now" is pure speculation. There is nothing to suggest that is the case. Since 2017 he's missed 5 games due to sprained MCLs. Not much a player can do about injuries like that. It isn't like he is constantly battling "soft tis
  11. If and that's a big IF, LaFleur has finally figured out that Jones gives them the best opportunity to win, he would be match-up proof. I think LaFleur still believes that Williams is still the superior pass blocker and that's why he is in most times when they are in the hurry up. I'm only speculating here though. It's the only thing that makes sense to me as to why Williams is still getting so much playing time. It should be around a 70/30 split between Jones and Williams.
  12. As a Packers fan, of course you can't blame them. 6 is 6 no matter who scores. But I still maintain, that they get "too cute" around the GL because they have Rodgers. Prime example is the loss to the Eagles. They had 1st and goal from the 1 yd line if memory serves me correctly. They attempted 4 passes instead of trying to run it. If the Packers had Tannenhill under center instead of Rodgers, I'd be willing to bet they would have tried to run it at least once in that situation.
  13. Jones has the same curse every other RB on the Packers has had over the past decade, Aaron Rodgers. When you have a HOF QB that doesn't throw INTs often, you obviously have more options inside the 5 yard line. Jones had a TD called back on a hold, that's just bad luck. But then later he got stopped on the 1/2 or 1 yard line. So, naturally, on the next play, you throw it to your 35 year old TE who had 10 receptions all season and hasn't caught a TD. Those two plays will more than likely cost me the win this week but that's what you get with Packers RBs.
  14. Man, if they lose to the Browns, I'm finalizing my transition to become a Pats fan. But then again, if they lose to the Browns, maybe that would help Murphy to see that TT, MM and Capers are clowns and need to go.
  15. But he's just trying to "defend the shield" man, come on........... And as someone else above me pointed out, Goodell is not JJ's boss. It is the other way around. Goodell serves the owners.
  16. Very well put but I do have some different opinions. I do still think that Jones is startable. There is no reason why he couldn't put up comparable numbers as he did against the Saints. He just needs the touches. I also don't think that saying "it was common knowledge ty was going to be the third down back" was revisionist history. Ty's role in this offense wasn't going to completely disappear because AJ was running away with the job. To me, AJ is a much better runner while Ty is a much better pass catching RB. They were and still are going to serve different purposes in thi
  17. Thanks for the replies fellas. Like many of you, I can't bring myself to drop Jordy either. If Hundley would have seen Jordy wide open last week and turns that play from a sack into a TD, we might not even be having this conversation. But, Hundley is playing awful right now so who knows what is going to happen with Jordy. As a Packers fan I'm hoping that the more practice reps and game experience he gets, the better Hundley will play. But, who knows if that will happen. I'm currently 3-6 and actually got Jordy in a trade AFTER Rodgers got injured. So, my opinion of Jordy might be a bit
  18. And the experts weren't wrong. The game started to get away from the Packers and MM panicked when he didn't need to. They could have still tried to establish the run but that didn't happen. Ok, Ty coming in on 3rd down was pretty much common knowledge. Nothing has changed regarding their usage.
  19. So, for those you who are dropping Jordy and even Aaron Jones, who is on your WW that is a better option than either of those guys? I know it depends on league size and what not but there is absolute hot garbage on the WW in my 12 team league. I can't fathom dropping a player like Jordy for WW fodder?
  20. This is the same team that was winning with Rodgers at the helm. Yes, Rodgers covers up a lot of those deficiencies. But Hundley has been with the Packers for 3 years now. He should know the offense and MM should know his strengths and weaknesses as a back up QB and create a game plan accordingly. MM can't do that.
  21. MM is an idiot, he needs to be fired. I've been calling for his head for years now but whatever. It is inexcusable to give AJ 5 carries on the night. MM just doesn't know what to do when he doesn't have Rodgers to bail his a** out. He always talks about "trying to establish the running game", yet, he never does. Or he runs it a handful of times and when then says, "welp, that isn't working, time to throw it!". He isn't a good play-caller, he isn't good at making adjustments, he isn't good at anything really other than looking like a St. Bernard on the sidelines.
  22. I don't think we really have any idea how Pederson intends to use Ajayi. He has only been the Eagles HC for 1.5 seasons and yes, in that tenure, he has employed a RBBC. But I think that was more out of necessity. The Eagles didn't really have a RB like Ajayi could be a 3-down back.
  23. I understand that bye weeks are tough to manage sometimes, but you have to remember that bye weeks for actual football players can be beneficial. I think the bye week could help Ajayi by giving him an extra week to learn the Eagles system and to give him a week of rest.
  24. I don't see how people can possibly say that this isn't an upgrade for Ajayi's situation. The Dolphins have been awful this season as has Ajayi. Even if this isn't a huge upgrade for Ajayi, it is an upgrade. The Eagles wouldn't sent a 4th round pick to the Dolphins if they planned to use him in a 4-headed committee.
  25. This. I am kicking myself for dropping him the same week I picked him up because I thought Ty was going to play through his rib injury. And I didn't believe he was that good. I was wrong and now I'm trying to trade for him. He definitely passes the eye test and I believe is a better RB than Ty at this point. I could see him continue to run away with the starting job and win it outright next season. So, in my keeper league he has a lot more value than in a re-draft league IMO. Also, why do people, when trying to ague against a player's performance, discredit the fact that they
