Thank god.

Yeah guys I just got back from the Celts game.

Wow, just wow...they looked pretty bad there for a bit, and Pierce wasn't getting ANY calls.

Rondo is turning into one heck of a player.

As a Yankee fan I hate seeing Lowell in Boston cause he kills the Yanks and makes em a better team. BUT..........Id much rather see u guys sign him than us and have him be our 1st baseman for the next 4 years. Just not worth it IMO. Now if it were 3b itd be a different story but not 1b and not for 4 years.

According to ESPN, the Red Sox and Mike Lowell are close to finalizing a three-year, $37.5 million contract.

The terms of the deal aren't surprising, but it was assumed that Lowell would have to leave money on the table if he was going to stay with the Red Sox. Now it looks like Boston's offer was the best he received. We're still skeptical that he'll be worth it, but it'll go down as one of the most reasonable contracts of the winter.

Red Sox win big time here. They didnt panic and give Lowell a fourth year. A three year deal is about right for Lowell and the money is pretty reasonable.

Agreed. The best part is he made his choice pretty quickly giving the team more time to make other moves now.

Mike Lowell's three-year, $37.5 million contract with the Red Sox is likely to be finalized Tuesday, pending a physical.

According to WBZ-TV's Dan Roche, Red Sox owner John Henry put in a call to Lowell on Sunday and helped convince him to stay in Boston. ESPN's Peter Gammons says both the Dodgers and Phillies were willing to go to four years, though we remain quite skeptical of that information. Nov. 19 - 2:00 pm etSource: WBZ-TV
