Coach Dirk Koetter wouldn't rule out giving Ryan Griffin some snaps at quarterback Week 17 against the Falcons.
Koetter said it on Christmas Eve and reiterated it Wednesday. "The guy's been here for three years," Koetter said. "He's worked his tail off. We just would like to see Ryan Griffin get a chance to get into a game if the opportunity presents itself." Griffin has been talked up by this coaching staff but has never appeared in a regular season game. With Jameis Winston's future also up in the air in Tampa Bay, it sounds like Griffin could get some run just to get a glance at him. That threat of playing time for Griffin takes Winston off the board in DFS cash games.

Winston plays second best game of season and scores gazillion points.

T.J. Jones caught 3-of-3 targets for 40 yards in the Lions' Week 17 win over the Packers.
The fifth-year pro struggled to get on the field this season despite the Lions' mid-season trade of Golden Tate. Going on 27, Jones is also headed to free agency.

Poor dude also catches 2 TD's, doubling his career stats.

RW fails to mention.

His mom is crying into his scrapbook as we speak.

Tyler Lockett caught 4-of-6 targets for a team-high 120 yards in Seattle's Wild Card loss to the Cowboys.

Three of Lockett's four catches against Dallas unsurprisingly went for gains of 25, 40, and 53 yards. Experiencing a rollercoaster year due to offensive play-calling and injuries occurring around him, Lockett still 'arrived' for the Hawks in 2018 by posting team-highs in catches (57), receiving yards (965), and receiving touchdowns (10). The exciting and explosive 26-year-old will hit the market presumably as one of Seattle's primary free agents they'll attempt to reel back in. Lockett's ability to win against both man and zone coverage make him an ideal fit for any team looking to increase their downfield production.

Uh...Lockett signed an extension before the season, guys.

D.J. Chark caught 8-of-15 targets for 104 yards and two touchdowns in Week 11 against the Colts.

Chark was the lone bright spot, catching both of Nick Foles's touchdowns. He sprinted untouched to the end-zone for a 34-yard touchdown on the second drive of the game, and added another one on a fade route in garbage-time. Chark been Foles's go-to receiver, though that's based off just five quarters of play. He'll be a FLEX play for a Week 12 matchup with the Titans.

Dude is on pace for 80/1300/13 and they call him a flex play lmfao

Omggg. I’m so happy that there’s a thread for this!! What in the heck are these roto blurb writers doing the last couple years. WHY is there so much subjectivity in the blurbs?? And why do they insist on putting practice reports up and then doubling back on them at least once a week?! Just report the facts and if it’s going to be opinion at least keep it conensus.

Here's an absolute gem of a hot take from Rotoballer.

Washington RedskinsNov 27 5:40pm ET

194

The Washington Redskins Defense may be garnering some attention on the waiver wire for Week 13 after forcing four turnovers and scoring a special teams touchdown last week against the Lions. The Redskins also recorded six sacks to round out what was an impressive fantasy day. While Washington has been a half-decent real-life defense (all things considered) in some regards, a matchup with the Panthers this week doesn't exactly invite an encore of last week's fantasy outing. Carolina is a competent offense that operates heavily through the best running back in the league in Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey is the type of player who can dismantle an opposing defense all by himself, and the Redskins shouldn't have nearly as many opportunities for sacks and interceptions with him toting the ball 25 times out of the backfield. Washington should not be viewed as a trustworthy fantasy play for Week 13.

  • Eagles signed Josh McCown to the practice squad to serve as the team's emergency quarterback.

McCown, 41, becomes the oldest practice squad player in league history. Living in Texas and joining the team in virtual meetings, McCown will serve as the Eagles' emergency quarterback should the team's other signal callers test positive for COVID-19. McCown most recently started three games for the Jets in 2018, completing 54.5 percent of his passes while throwing one interception and four picks.

Apparently he threw one interception that was picked off four times. Neat.

Not a mistake per se, but whoever is writing the blurbs tonight seems really bitter. They called Tom Brady a QB2 (He has 9 TDS, 1 pick, and over 900 yards in his last three games). Also, they are relentlessly going after Foles as if he played the worst game ever.

It was Thursday night. Brady had tons of injuries to his WRs. Foles won the game with a strong late drive.

Take it down a notch.

Is Tom being labeled a QB2 with injured play makers against a good defense inaccurate?

Is Tom a top 10 QB even if The Bucs at full strength?  He certainly isnt a top 6 at full strength.

QB1 to me means top 12. There are not 12 QBs playing in week 6 that I'd start over Brady. So he's a QB1 next week.

Cardinals made an in-house trade.

Quote

Cardinals acquired DE Markus Golden from the Cardinals in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round pick.

It's a move a seller would make as Golden, although he clearly wasn't a fit for DC Patrick Graham's scheme, had notched 1.5 sacks as a pass-rushing specialist to date. The Cardinals will take on his $3.65 million cap hit while the deal leaves behind $1.4 million in dead cap for New York. This move improves Arizona's third-down defense dramatically since the team is already fielding one of the better coverage units in the entire league.

Mike Evans caught 4-of-6 targets for 64 yards in Week 9 against the Saints.

Evans was locked down by Marshon Lattimore, who held him without a catch in the first half. He ended up leading the Bucs in receiving, but it didn't amount to much in a game Tom Brady threw for only 209 yards. Evans has yet to look fully healthy this season and missed a few plays with a groin injury. He has a Week 10 matchup against a Panthers secondary that's given up the second fewest passing touchdowns.

Evans had a catch in the first half.  His uh....groin injury.....was....more of an impact of a football in his....you know.

ESPN's Adam Schefter thinks Sam Darnold could be worth a late first-round pick if traded.

This is not a report saying Darnold will fetch a late first-round pick, nor is it a report that Darnold will in fact be traded. Rather, it's his speculation after seeing what teams were offering for Matthew Stafford. The Jets haven't publicly shopped Darnold yet, but they certainly will be in the mix for Deshaun Watson if the Texans are willing to listen. Darnold, 24, has a career 6.6 yards per attempt average through three Adam Gase-led seasons. He hasn't played like a first-round pick under the worst circumstances, but 24-year-old quarterbacks with his pre-draft pedigree don't hit the market often. What the Jets do with their $63 million cap space and No. 2 overall pick is a leading offseason storyline.

It this a joke?  Did this writer really say that Darnold had 3 seasons with Gase?

Fact Check(which I don't actually need to check): Gase was the coach for 2 seasons.  Was he coaching Darnold on the Jets his rookie year, even though Gase was the coach of the Dolphins at the time...

Todd Bowles' last season as the Jets coach was Darnold's rookie season. Is someone really telling me they couldn't look this up before posting this?

Looking back I made this thread in 2013 and they still can't do a little research or fact checking??

He also isn't 24 yet. I can only assume (this is the only logical explanation) that this is a report from the future, and the new team to hire Gase (the Texans?) will also trade for Darnold.

RW is apparently either content enough to not hire an editor for the last decade or so or too cash-strapped to afford one.

I find at least one error a week from the RW blurbs. Maybe I will remember to start posting them here. What gets me more than anything are the tones and obvious biases that come across in the RW blurbs from various writers. It is a bit of a downer reading some of them most days. Almost like reading some of the player threads here when certain posters take a stance on one particular player and hate every other player on that team at the position.

Hahaha post them up!!

My favorite is when one writer will talk about how a player is a low RB2 for example and the next day that same player will be a mid rb1
