RMT -- Yahoo Pro League, 10 Teams, Standard Scoring, Snake Draft

Recommended Posts

Hello. I just had my draft for a $50.00 pro league, and while I normally prefer to wait until the week the season starts so injuries and preseason storylines have coalesced, my impatience got the better of me. Just to recap, this is a 10 team Yahoo league with standard scoring. I got saddled with the sixth overall pick in a snake draft. Please let me know how you think I did, and what I might do to improve my team. My team's weakest area is RB until week 3 (Le'Veon "Gonna smoke that hash" Bell), and I'm not sure my bench has enough in it to swing a trade.

Thanks in advance for your time and input!

John Candy's Bowels

QB -- Matt Ryan

WR -- Odell Beckham Jr.

WR -- Mike Evans

WR -- DeAndre Hopkins

RB -- Le'Veon Bell

RB -- Chris Ivory

TE -- Travis Kelce

K -- Stephen Gostkowski

DEF (will be streaming...) -- NYJ

BN -- Jarvis Landry, WR

BN -- Charles Johnson, WR

BN -- Tevin Coleman, RB

BN -- DeAngelo WIlliams, RB

BN -- Tyler Eifert, TE

BN -- Eli Manning, QB

I like the looks of your team. Very strong WR and could possibly use one of them as trade bait. I'd say as long as you can tough out the first 4 weeks without Le'veon, and Ivory can stay on the field, youre going to do pretty well.

Also Charles Johnson could turn out to be a very nice play.

I think you are a definite contender. Even if you start 0-2 (which I don't think you will) don't panic because with Bell that is a great team. If it's not a PPR I'd try to trade Landry for an RB to start the first two weeks. You should be fine with Williams though.

I like it a lot! Weakest guy in your lineup is Ivory and I actually think he'll have a decent year... securing Williams should definitely keep you competitive the first couple weeks without Bell. Looks good to me.

Team has a lot of upside with guys like Evans, Hopkins, Kelce. Your WR are stacked. I don't think your RB are that weak, I like ivory as an RB2 this year. Honestly, I think Bell will be a lock for top 3 RB this year after his suspension. It's really not that bad to go 0-2 (which might not even happen if you win a game or both without Bell). 0-2 is easy to turn around. Nice bench too, guys like Landry could end up as top 20 at their position. Solid lineup overall. Thanks for the help on mine

Looks really solid to me. I wouldn't go out of my way to force a trade. See how things play out.

Thanks for mine!

Same thing here. Maybe a RB upgrade from the waiver wire / trade down the line but dont force the issue.

And thanks for help on mine.

I'm going to do some pro league son yahoo too...I would've expected stiffer competition especially you at 6th. I think youve done really well. Can I just ask the rounds you nabbed your starters in (my guess):

QB -- Matt Ryan (6)
WR -- Odell Beckham Jr. (2)
WR -- Mike Evans (3)
WR -- DeAndre Hopkins (4)
RB -- Le'Veon Bell (1)
RB -- Chris Ivory (8+)
TE -- Travis Kelce (5)
K -- Stephen Gostkowski (you had to be first for this, was it pre 10th?)
DEF (will be streaming...) -- NYJ (15)

Did Alfred Blue get drafted? I think once Bell comes back you're on easy street.

Folks are surely not as casual as they are in the yahoo public and winner leagues are they?

Close. I reached for Ivory because I know he has no competition for touches in NY, and I wanted to make sure there was a solid RB2 backing DeAngelo while Bell is suspended. My experience in Pro leagues has been pleasant; people pay attention and participate, and the waiver wire is a pretty stiff battle week to week. Trades can be hard to facilitate, because no one knows each other, but other than that, no complaints. Yes, Alfred Blue was drafted.

Below are the first ten picks for me:

1. (6) Le'Veon Bell RB

2. (15) Odell Beckham Jr. WR

3. (26) Mike Evans WR

4. (35) DeAndre Hopkins WR

5. (46) Travis Kelce TE

6. (55) Chris Ivory RB

7. (66) Matt Ryan QB

8. (75) Jarvis Landry WR

9. (86) Tevin Coleman RB 1

0. (95) Stephen Gostkowski K

What do you guys think of trading Mike Evans or DeAndre Hopkins + something (maybe Ivory) for Jeremy Hill? I feel perfectly fine throwing Jarvis Landry in there as the wr3, and can easily pick up a serviceable WR off the wire for the bench. Only 10 teams, bound to be something left. Hill + Bell is drool-worthy, and ODB + Evans or Hopkins is nothing to sneeze at.

I don't mind a hopkins/ivory pairing for a RB2 upgrade but I doubt you'll get Hill with that. If I'm an objective owner I would be asking for Evans. I would consider Evans but I would be trying to move hopkins for a different RB2 first...
