I’m not worried yet. His K rate has been really low. Maybe playing in Buffalo in April is affecting his batted balls.

I wouldn't be worried for a couple months, even then probably not. He's one of the youngest players in AAA playing at the level for the first time. He'll be fine and a major leaguer. How good is certainly up for debate, I like him though.

Bo may not get a call at all this year. Toronto is playing the likes of Alen hansen, Eric Sogard, and Socrates Brito. They just sent down a kid, Urena, who was hitting well over .300 and replace him with poster child of journeymen Sogard. So predicting what this team will do is a game of chance.

Vladdy J HAS to be called up this year, but I wouldn't hold my breath on Bo. Even if he rakes and the season is lost, Toronto can get enough PR fanfare from Vladdy...then NEXT year bring in Bo.

Honestly, Vladdy should be up NOW and they should be monitoring Bo for a callup, but Toronto is doing things differently.

May have broken hand
April 23, 2019
Bichette is believed to have suffered a broken left hand in his game Monday with Triple-A Buffalo after preliminary tests revealed a fracture, Robert Murray and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic report.
ANALYSIS
Per Sportsnet.ca, Bichette was in considerable pain after taking an up-and-in fastball to the hand during his second at-bat in Monday's 7-3 loss to Syracuse. He'll undergo a second opinion on the injury, but if follow-up tests confirm the fracture, he'll likely be facing a multi-week absence. Bichette has slashed .250/.310/.404 with a home run and three steals through his first 14 games with Buffalo and had been expected to make his MLB debut at some point in 2019, but the injury could ultimately delay his timeline for arrival.

Let's hope they don't use this news to delay Vlad to the majors again

touche

astros press conference: in addition to being a little thick in the middle, we don't feel it's appropriate to promote mr. guerrero while his teammate is sidelined with an injury. when mr bichette is fully healed and returned to the field, we'll reevaluate the situation for mr. guerrero and make the most appropriate decision as it relates to the overall impact on the the blue jays organization.

Why would the Astros be having a press conference talking about Vladdy and Bo?

RW says he's getting a 2nd opinion, for what it's worth.

Typically that's even worse news as it means the initial diagnosis was not what anyone wanted to hear. Hopefully he can return earlier than expected and possibly help the team down the stretch, but it does appear that the organization has the excuse they need to "legitimately" delay the call up until at least late April/May of 2020.

  • 1 month later...

Not sure how likely he is called up this season.  It probably depends on how Biggio does.  BIggio is scuffling a little bit but he will probably have at least a couple of weeks to figure things out.
