Is anyone flat out dropping?  I'm in a 10 teamer with guys like Gurriel, Castellanos, etc just sitting on the wire.  I just can't bring myself to do it yet, but have lost all hope he is going to get it going.  I seriously hate this tool.

Just bench him until further notice and pick up Gurriel and play him over Josh. I finally mustered up the fortitude too do just that yesterday and Gurriel went yard and Josh put up another Offer.

I can't bring myself to drop him, but man, when I decided to start Kemp vs Kershaw over him, it made me wonder what the point was anymore.

I actually haven't even sat him once when he was in the lineup. I should get some kind of stubbornness award.

At some point I guess you have to consider straight dropping him though. I think if I didn't have a comfortable lead in roto I would feel more urgent to grab someone else.

Really does seem like a complete lost season. I don't believe he will be getting healthy any time this year.

Like Miggy, he'll likely be a fantastic bargain next year

It's really difficult to decide what to do when someone is hiding an injury. I almost never check this guy because he's a first rounder. But wow. Over the last month he's probably been hurting my team more than he has all season, including when he was on the DL.

I'm just sort of dazed as to what to do about it. Since we know almost nothing about the injury, I'm not sure whether to try to trade him for peanuts to the second place team (so he can drag them down), straight drop him, or wait for him to heal up, which with the lack of injury info, I guess could happen any time.

Not exactly thrilled with Donaldson but he did get a double and a walk yesterday.  Baby steps.

I know it's all anecdotal and observational, but he seemed a little more comfortable in his at bats yesterday. He crushed one that was foul by a few feet (that AB resulted in a ground out to third).

I'm really just reaching for any positive news at this point with Donaldson.

This guy is one of the pioneers for all the "Launch Angle" specialists out there.  I see no evidence of an injury that would lessen his ROS productivity.  His K rate has risen though.  Also, some of his hard hits have become medium contact as hard hit rate is down to 33.x% from the 40% range in prior years.  His spray chart looks about the same as usual.  Let's see what he does ROS before talking about dropping a perrenial MVP candidate . . .

I've been benching for a long time now waiting for a turn-around. It's not happening. He looks as anxious for this season to end as I am. It will give me a lot of pleasure to finally drop this turd. Not sure why I've waited so long. I guess it's because it must be heresy to drop someone who not long ago was annually an MVP candidate. I don't see him pulling out of this - why should anyone.

If your team is out of it is this a guy to target for next season in a keeper? Really hard to understand what's happening here.

Donaldson being kept at 3b does not sound very appealing. It's a deeper position now and u can really wait and find value at 3b in the draft. He may turn it around and be a beast for another year or so but not worth the cost of trading for him and keeping him IMO

You just know you're going to get an 0-3, 0-4 night every night with at least one K and maybe a couple walks sprinkled in occasionally.   Can't believe how useless he has become.

I'd have to think he is still dealing with something cause I don't think you can become so useless so quickly at 31.

As frustrating as Donaldson has been to own, I wouldn't, for a moment, consider dropping him in any format. If he never gets it going this year, then oh well. His track record is such that you have to bank on a strong finish or go down with the ship. In 34 games since I've traded for Donaldson, he has 1 home run. Still I am more hopeful for a strong finish out of him than the other bozo I traded for -- Miguel Cabrera.

In a keeper league, I would try to get him at a discount. I doubt we've seen the last of good Donaldson.

Why were you so intrigued by those 2 and who did you trade? I agree, you can't drop Donaldson. Just got to ride him out and hopefully he leaves Toronto and is revived. Miggy is stuck in Detroit without JD or a good team, and he's getting that age where we have seen the best of him and really shouldn't  expect a major turnaround.

I don't know.  This just has the feel of one of those lost, injury riddled seasons guys have sometimes.  He could easily be back to being JD after a full season of rest and rehab.

Plus, a change of scenery could rejuvenate him.

I mean, of course it depends on how many keepers you have.  In my keep up to 3, I probably won't.  But in a league where you have to keep 6 or 8 or more, he could easily be a keeper next year.

Yes mine is 3 guys also and Donaldson isn't being kept especially since it's 8'teams. You probably are somewhat correct about Donaldson since he is 31 and went from MVP to literally fallimg off a cliff and becoming almost useless all year. I would guess he still has something lingering
