Fiveohnine 1,496
That had to be a concussion. Hopefully nothing worse. Those knock you out in football even with a helmet on.

Curious how bad Moncada is ( we all are ) from the looks of it he didn't "plant" the knee so does not appear like he tore it up, but maybe broken knee cap, dislocated knee cap. Or just a real bad bruise. I'm optimistic it's not severe, at least from the video image, does not appear to look severe. He will be 'lucky' to have escaped with 'just' a concussion. That said, Aaron Hill and Justin Morneau were never the same after theirs. Hopefully youth and time are on his side. Fiveohnine 1,496
So he's the one that gave the knee or the one who took it? I would have expected the guy in the air to be ok.
Dugout Legend 419
Bob Nightengale @BNightengale now Yoan Moncada is Day to day with right knee contusion, x-rays are negative #whitesox

EmbargoLifted 902
Is this one of those situations where he still needs to see a specialist/get an MRI or is he really just day to day and will be back with a few days off?

If I'm the Sox I absolutely get the MRI done on my prized prospect. As we know X-rays don't reveal ligament damage, so as precautionary I think MRI should be done on him. They may take a day for any swelling to calm down first. So we'll see.
Fuzzy_Slippers 3,897
LOL, carted off the the field with a knee bruise.
BigPapi44 1,050
Wait. On the above, is that Moncada that takes the knee to the head or gives the knee? I thought he took the knee.

Man Willy G took that like a champ. Faint murmurs of 'down goes Frazier' can be heard echoing after that blow. Edited August 1, 2017 by BigPapi44

DJSatane 728
If he ends up going to DL it could mean he may go back to minors long rehab afterwards, hopefully no DL.

Cmilne23 10,544
Get well soon Yoan. I just looked over the wire and can't find anyone with your special kind of ineptitude to supply me with that sterling .105 batting average.

Dylanfan66 165
This guy has special talent. He is 22 years old with a nice easy swing. And he knows the strike zone. He strikes out too much. But in time he should be a All-Star for at least a few seasons.
Fiveohnine 1,496
This may be the luckiest injury of the season for a lot of owners that would have stubbornly held him ROS as he dragged their team down and out.
motown magic 736
Good news boys and girls . Byron Buxton is back. Now we have a replacement . He's hitting twice what Yawn Moncada WAS . Thats a boost right there
