¿Que?

They're measuring velocity closer to the actual release point this year. It's raising velocity on everyone as much as about 1 MPH.

Still a decent bump for Wood regardless. Definitely worth monitoring if not grabbing.

What do we make of his near 3 MPH increase in velo?

Carrying over a bullpen mentality? I've seen starters shift to the pen and then back to the rotation and keep most of their velo gains.

Danny Duffy is a relevant case, and after velocity staying high last year it has dipped quite a lot this year (not an owner so don't know specifics and not interested enough to look up).

It's a great matchup vs the anaemic Giants tonight, I just hope he does enough to secure a rotation spot. The noises were initially promising, but with Hill now slated to return to the rotation I'm starting to feel Wood will unforunately again miss out soon.

Well that went well. Matt Moore even getting in the mix on that hit party.

In more ways than one!

Hope he hangs in for the W

I'm watching and can't decide if he's good but unlucky, or average but up against an average team. Some of the stuff looks damn good. Lots of swings and misses.

I thought he got really unlucky today. The first two batters in the 2nd inning both reached on infield singles and they ended up having a big inning because of it.

That plus a wild throw from Hernandez in the same inning. Hard for pitcher to get past that I guess. He's done enough that I want to hold for a while, hoping he's won the management over too.

? c'mon man, was expecting more out of you tonight.

Just remember his bad inning featured two infield singles, a bloop single by Matt Moore, and an errant throw.  You may want to ride Wood a little longer and see what happens.   You'll probably end up smiling in the end.
