How bad is that?

Obviously depends on how bad of a strain but usually obliques are pretty tricky. You don't want to rush back or it could linger so I'll bet a few weeks absence for sure. Sucks for him :/

We all get some wrong.  Pretty sure you had a lovenut for Jesus Aguilar and were not too fond of Thames back in March.

Happens to all of us.  We just gotta keep learning and swing the odds in our favor.

Never said I didn't like Thames, I said they both were 2 of the best hitters in that lineup.... I said I think Thames could end up sharing time with Aguilar because I like Jesus that much... Which apparently Thames is the best hitter in baseball.  But he'll cool down, do people really view him as Bryce Harper?.., I am saying sell high on Thames.  I have doubts of him finishing as a top 15 bat, let alone #1 or #2 where he currently is at.  The power has been tremendous no doubt and the walks are impressive so I'm sure he'll end the season high in the ranks but I'm fairly certain.

Hope it's only 10 days. Expect it to be twice that or more. Obliques are terrible for hitters. Setbacks are common.

FWIW, according  to Shaun Newkirk over at Royals Review the average DL stint for outfielders with oblique injuries is about 38 days.

Yeah, saw that. A lot of their beat writers have basically said 4-6 weeks. It's definitely one where rushing it costs you.

To be honest I kinda liked the blank silhouette .... it added mystic to Hangier like this unknown entity known simply as "bench heat" is playing like a baseball god ....now that I see his smiling face he's just another innocent looking dude

The picture literally made him mortal I knew it was bad luck

I guess they are holding off on putting him on the DL until after they get the rest results back, which is annoying since he will almost certainly need at least 10 days to recover. Waivers need to be in by noon in the league where I own him and the suspense is figuratively killing me.
