Lions will def try to get the run game going against the falcons which can be done and use some clock.

I agree...While I think this game will O/U 60, I think the Lions will try to establish the run. IMO, this means AA early (while the game is close). And it's not outside the realm of possibility that the Lions are actually leading this game for parts of the 3rd or 4th, which is AA territory.

Riddick will be involved as the Falcons are clearly susceptible to pass catching backs, but AA can be that as well (whereas Riddick is not a legit, consistent option running out of the BF). I'm not going to be surprised if both RB's end up w/ decent RB2/Flex #'s, but my money is on AA (as an AA owner) leading DET in non-QB scoring.

(PS: AA owner and Sunday stater)

Thoughts on today?  They're at home against the Falcons.   The Falcons D looked pretty legit last week against GB, but ESPN has them at 31st against the run.   Could he have a good game today?

I'm starting him today because the match up does not get any better then this and If I cant start him this week then when do I start him aside from bye weeks. I think he gets more involved in the pass game today so in my .5 PPR i have him plugged in at my Flex spot.

That's a damn good point.  He's been on my bench in favor of Terrance West, Buck Allen, and even Kamara for week 2.  I'm sure people in similar situations have felt the same about Abdullah.

Half watching, admittedly.  When I was watching it seemed like GB was getting stuffed on every drive, until Beasley went down.  Was that yardage accumulated in garbage time?

Don't remember play by play but I do know one of his td's came in the 1st qtr and the other was a 1 yard catch in the 4th.

Not a whole lot of running room, but we kind of new that is par for the course with the Detroit line.

What's more impressive is 3 catches on 3 targets for 39 yards.  The vaunted pass catching specialist Theo Riddick?  9 targets, 4 catches, for 38 yards.  Pfft.  Not sure why they don't let AA play all 3 downs.

I thought we started to see shades of it as riddick had 0 rushes

That means nothing because he was never a threat to steal early down work. We saw him in on 3rd downs and he was in for the hurry up comeback drive.

Abdullah as a 3 down back can be a legitimate RB1 even without a lot of GL rushes because of his ability. 100 YPG total would be the norm.

I didn't watch the game but in fairness to Riddick his targets could've been of the much harder variety, since he's a better route runner. Whereas AA's could've been designed screens or dump offs. I just wouldn't go and automatically assume AA is all of a sudden better receiver because of his catch rate.

If you just took the names off the players and looked only at usage and yardage, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Ameer Abdullah and Lamar Miller.  Something to consider.  Vikings are a tough matchup this week but he's still going to produce yards.

I had him down for 75 total yards per game, and 7 total TDs on the year.  This will be about 10.3 standard points per game.  This is mid-low RB2 production.  TDs are looking hard to come by so far, but they should come, and the yardage floor is there.  Everything's in line with what we expected so far.

10.3 standard points per game would have been 164.8 on the season, good for RB12 last year (low end RB1).

What about on a PPG basis though? I hate looking at total points for the year in ranking players, because you have mediocre guys like Gore who play 16 games being ranked higher than better RBs who got hurt. I'd rather have a guy give me 8 or 10 good games and then get hurt than have a guy give me 16 mediocre games.
