Uh, yeah, he is a WR after all.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic.  He's a tight end, and Ellison is at least listed as the starter.  That said, Ellison is more of a blocker; Engram will almost definitely have more receptions.

It's tough to count on a rookie tight end though.  I think he's someone to keep an eye on but not to draft.

Sunday night the whole world will know this- EE is a beast!  Dallas is the best defense for a TE to get baptized in. The Holy Spirit will definitely fall down upon Engram.

Praise the Lord so sayeth it in the Book of Eli

Eli Manning forces the ball to scrub TE's, and has been doing so for many years.  Just look at the amount of targets bums like Larry Donnell and Will Tye got between them last season.   I am not an Engram owner, but strictly speaking as a Giants fan, there is no way he is not a factor this year.  Tye's numbers last year should be his floor...he will beat that pretty easily imo.

In your estimation is he even startable week 1 being #2 on the depth chart or should we be in a holding partern to see how snaps per game break down.

Even though the Giants list Engram as the backup, he will play and play a lot. He got 24 offensive snaps in the dress rehearsal preseason game against the Jets, with Ellison getting 16.

he is going to be on the field early and often....starter designation does not matter here.  Sterling Shepard will be affected more than anyone once the offense is fully healthy.  They will be using Engram a lot in the slot. We will see both he and Ellison on the field at the same time.

Start the rookie TE at your peril. The only reason I see to start him is if you had a disaster of a draft at the TE spot and have no really good top-12 options. Don't get cute and bench him for someone you spent top-10 draft capital on.

Eli was awful last season. And he will be even more awful if Beckham doesn't play on Sunday.

Beckham being out will only mean he will force the ball to the TE position even more than he did before.  All one has to do is pay attention to what he has done over the past few years in regards to the TE position.  Tye was a bum and look up the numbers he put up as a rookie TE. It does not matter.  Engram will be on the field and will be targeted.  Eli loves the TE. And will utilize the position often. No matter who is lining up there. They will get targeted.

Picked him up off the waiver wire, watched his preseason catches, im sold and i have no choice but to start him with brate not playing this week, might even drop brate and grab this golden nugget of the falcons defense

Hi.

Odell is not 100%. Marshall is another year older. Engram has done nothing but impress since day one - and they are literally lining him up everywhere.

This is a tight end with an athletic profile that destroys "matchup nightmares" like Jordan Reed/Aaron Hernandez and is essentially on par with some of the games elite WRs (there's a lovely reddit chart - he's more or less Julio Jones lite).

So far this summer he has been in the backfield, in the slot, split out wide, and given goal line fades ... He's a tight end who could literally take a 5 yard pass 50+ yards for a TD at any given moment

And he'll be seeing man coverage all day vs a team that can't cover a TE.

If you don't have Gronk Kelce Reed Graham Eifert Olsen ... you just might want to grab Engram.
