You kidding?

not really, when is the last time the Packers signed a huge deal for a top paid WR in the league?

p.s. I also almost look at this like it's a big FA signing which the Packers rarely seem to do.

Randall Cobb? LOL

didn't realize that made him top 4 highest paid, nice.

my point was, the Packers are typically very salary-cap conscious and rarely make big FA deals. Adams was going to be a FA.

I'm a Packer fan btw, and happy to see it happen.

Yes they signed randall cobb a few years ago before he hit FA

they can make big deals, they just typically do it to retain their own players. This was a great move imo to lock up Adams.

GB doesn’t spend a lot to get outside help and rolls over some cap space to sign one of their own who is due to become a FA.

Cobb is on the way out w/ jordy probably taking a pay cut.

The question is, who is their next priority, Burnett or linsley?

FWIW, I’m a packers fan too and here’s to hopefully having a good 2018 season!

D. Adams is the future of their WR core.  I not surprised they paid him with Jordy getting older, and Cobb a role player.

If he made it to free agency, someone would have outbid the Packers.

This is good for Adams and the team.

You are right, someone would have outbid them.

TT gets ahead of the game sometimes. I don’t think this was ever talked about, then BAM, they lock up a WR

I disagreed back when they resigned Cobb and some qualified it as the Packer brass being "active" in the FA market, and it's the same with this contract for Adams...yes, they kept an important player, but the signing does nothing to tip the team talent scale from '17 to next season.

This extension can not be used to fluff the grade of their offseason moves.
