There is literally no chance Hyde loses his job to this guy.

I agree, but Hyde is a free agent and oft injured so there is a decent chance Hyde doesn't get resigned. There is a chance if Hyde walks that Breida gets a shot at the starting gig and there is also a great chance Hyde misses at least one game this season and Breida gets to show what he can do.

There is no "committee" to employ.  Shanahan doesn't operate that way, and he how he has managed the roster makes that crystal clear.

Breida IS Hyde's only legit back up.  He has a proven 3 down skill set.  He has produced at a high level when he's received snaps, limited as they've been.

Ignore months of actual experience and pull sh#t out of the air if you prefer.  There is no hype surrounding Breida's actual role on this team.  Just facts.

I would add that anyone blowing smoke about a "committee-in-waiting" hasn't actually watched any Niner games.  Yes, you can see it first hand if you take the time to watch that Breida has been every bit as effective as Hyde on a per touch basis.  5.13 ypc for Hyde.  5.0 ypc for Breida.  5.08 ypr for Hyde.  5.75 ypc for Breida.  And the eye test fully backs up the numbers.

Frankly, it's a shock just how "pro- bellcow" Shanahan has been so far, especially given Hyde's injury history.  It is highly unlikely that he suddenly changes his stripes much if he has to plug in Breida for Hyde.

When Hyde was hurt last game, Mostert got some run too.

Since entering the league undrafted in 2015, Mostert has spent time with the 6 teams (Eagles, Fins, Ravens, Browns, Jets and Bears) before landing with SF.  He is the proud owner of 5 total carries in his well-traveled NFL career.  To this point, he has been a career special teamer.  Frankly, it would be quite a story if he suddenly owned 50% of the Niner backfield if Hyde were to get injured.

I'll say it again. there are only 3 RBs (not counting Juice) currently on the active roster.  That means Mostert will have to get some snaps if Hyde misses time.  Breida can't take all the snaps.  That doesn't mean there is a "committee" lined up behind Hyde.

The clincher here is that Shanahan has told us loud an clear by the way he's handled Hyde that he (Shanahan) doesn't prefer committees.  If he did, Hyde and Breida would already be in one because Breida has performed equal to Hyde when given the chance.  Hyde is an experienced pro, and Breida is a rookie still learning the ropes, so naturally Shanahan prefers Hyde.  But if Shanahan is forced to turn to someone else, there is zero evidence right now that Shanahan would look to someone other than Breida (Hyde's direct back up) to carry the load on all downs.  And frankly, based on how Breida has performed so far with the snaps he's received, there is every indication that production in the SF backfield will not suffer much, if any, if Breida were take over the reigns from Hyde.

When Ware went down, there was much speculation in the Hunt thread about the prospect of a committee in KC.  Seasoned KC followers who were familiar with Reid's management style were convinced that Hunt would get his chance to be a bell cow.  The rest is history.

Shanahan has already given us our answer.  Run with it.

Have to tread carefully since it's a 4pm game.

Doubt Hyde misses the game - he played through it last week.

Contract year for Hyde. Although even if he missed a game he wouldn't lose his job.

Ty Monty +Jamal Williams is probably the biggest wakeup call for Hyde owners rolling the dice on should they pick up Breida after last weeks 1st qtr scare.

I ignored last week but not risking that my competition gets the option of Breida with a high probability Hyde misses time
