Luke Walton is a b!tch

I actually think that's true.  You have a semi vet, who has all star potential, not injured and you choose to not play him.  It'd be like teams now playing Lou Williams 18 minutes a game.  But Brook had been at an allstar level for 4 years.  So, I guess it would be like playing Draymond Green 18 minutes as Lou was kinda flukey this year.

To add something onto this scenario that many are forgetting too is that Lakers can’t even tank Bc they don’t own their draft pick so even more reason to play him.

to add to your comment Lakers are trying to show they can win games to attract a free agent next year. if they can show improvement and have a winning record through the end of the year its easier to sell a free agent to join a team on an upswing. Even a 16-14 record to close out the year would attract attention across the league.

^ No. I own Portis and Lopez is on my 12 man wire and I ain't touching until a trade goes through. Portis hasn't had Dunn. Dunn is key to the Bulls winning. They became extremely respectable when he was on fire prior to his concussion.. Portis was also a per-minute stud at that point. He's gone down because Markkanen / Dunn being out means defenses are keying in on him. There's a good chance RoLo gets traded which will open up a Portis / Markkanen frontcourt. His shooting on the season has been good, he's in a slump because there's no one else to score outside of he and LaVine. It'll correct itself. Hang onto him.

For BroLo he's a stash if you're a playoff team and want to take a chance until the trade deadline, if he stays on LAL he's really risky, but there's a good chance he's gone. He's had mini spurts like this before and then they faced a small ball team and Walton once again left him out to dry..

I feel bad for BroLo and his owners who took an early round flier, I really do. He deserves better than this nonsense, and so do they.

To the Lakers justification though, lumbering bigs like BroLo (while very talented) hurt you in a fast paced game.. and with the league getting smaller and smaller you see even shotblocking specialists like Whiteside losing out on the 4th quarter (with Miami opting to go for a mix of Adebayo / Olynyk / James Johnson / Winslow etc.). The only bigs you can have out there have to be extremely mobile on the perimeter/switch-able on picks/and can hold their own on offense - think guys like Embiid, Towns (now with progress), Ibaka, Cousins, AD, etc.. You can't have a big who's going to sit inside like Whiteside and then not run out to contest, and the same can be said for Lopez - his rotations are too slow because he's a behemoth of a man and he doesn't have the foot speed when you have a small ball 4 playing 5 out there.

Well Doc Rivers is another b!tch. He was playing lou Williams under 20 minutes at the beginning of the season. It took the entire clippers back court to get injured for Rivers to realize that he had a star player on his hands. What an idiot. The guy is a proven scorer and he treated him like a scrub, same thing Walton is doing with Brook. Must be something in the air in L.A... both of them deserve to be fired.

odd his minutes went up before the deadline...also interested they are playing better with him having increased minutes. When ball comes back you think he keeps up this time? I guess you never know with Walton.

I think you may have answered your own question haha.  Nobody knows exactly what will happen with the rotations in LA.  Maybe they're showcasing him?  Maybe they realized he's one of their best players?  Who knows.

Is this guy getting minutes with nance gone? I'm thinking if I should hold on to him or go grab nance.

He is going to get the same 20 minutes and pretty much not play 4th quarters.  When Nance got hurt earlier in the year it coincided with the systematic drop in minutes and not playing 4th quarters.  So it is not going to matter that Nance is gone now.

Those two games he played the 4th quarter recently was like a doggy treat to make him feel better after he got mad (and rightfully so to be mad).  The last game they played I believe he went back to not playing the 4th again.

Luke is still an idiot -20 minutes and no 4th is still his ROS on this team.

Ramona Shelburne: As I said a little while ago on the Jump, source tells me that Brook Lopez wants to stay with the Lakers the rest of the year. There’s still time for that to change, but if it holds, teams hoping he’d be available after a buyout will be disappointed.

Contract year that is truly puzzling. Why wouldnt he want to join a team that will play him more?

Johnnyapplebot will tell you that brolo will average 19 and 7 ros with 1.5 blocks like he back on the nets lol.

I agree with what Tekno said above that nance leaving won't impact brook too much. Luke is still gonna screw him and just play super small.
