the Cards have too many SPs to begin with (I assume they have another one or two in development as well)

Those are NOT prospects anymore.  You said prospects in development and that was what I was asking about.

I never said any of those 7 were prospects - they have 6 legit SPs already plus Waino

But Hicks was getting to meetings on time and wasn't dogging it.  That's the point.  Yeah be hard on someone like Yasil Puig but not on rookies that are doing their best.  Mentor them, not haze them.

Not that it often matters a ton but what has Bud Norris done in this game to haze anyway?  Who the hell is Bud Norris to be pushing anyone?  Push them to what?  His mediocre career path?  Congrats dud

A trade for Machado doesn't make sense for the Cards.   1) He would almost certainly not be coming back.   2) This team arguably isn't good enough to be sticking in all the chips i

Well, Waino is done imo but that's a different story.

If I could choose anything? It'd depend on how long we're upgrading the position I guess.

Longterm, I'd want a good 3B that will be around for a while (read: not a Manny-esque rental).

If we're talking a short-term upgrade though, like "pushing the chips in for 2018" (which I'm still pretty vehemently against unless they grow a decent lead in the division), I guess I wouldn't be opposed to a super-elite bullpen arm if that's available, since that's the team's weakest area. Top 10 starting corp compared to a Bottom 5 relieving corp.

Would Herrera from KC work?

Yeah, Kelvin isn't my favorite guy, but if we're going for a short-term RP rental I'd definitely consider that. Obviously it'd depend on cost, but yeah.

Herrera and moose?  What are you offering?

Both rentals?

Gomber or Hudson and your pick of a an offensive minor leaguer?

I suppose maybe Weaver, that would be hard. But as we’ve talked about pitching is plentiful at the moment.

If we pay 65% of the Fowler contract, will you take him too

what exactly does weaver do that impresses you?

He strikes people out, has generally kept the walks in control, induces a healthy amount of groundballs and has limited the long balls he gives up.

He's a Top 30 pitcher, this shouldn't need explaining.

im not sure if youre watching the same weaver that im watching.

if he's as great as you think he is, then he should bring a nice haul in a trade.

I'm not sure what Luke Weaver you're watching that's so awful, but you should probably make an appointment for an optometrist anyways.

Wanting to trade him, especially with the implication that he's somehow bad, is ridiculous. He's a fine pitcher.

Luke is a solid number 3 , to say he is top 30 is definitely a reach.

Cards should consider going to a 6 man rotation once Cmart comes back. This would be great for Reyes/Flaherty. Doubt they will and I bet they send Flaherty Back down.

Why doesn't this team hit better?  Killing Flaherty.

I've been asking that all season. There have only been two or three of their hitters that aren't ice cold at any given time. Usually Molina and Martinez (and lately Carpenter) propping them up. I'm a fan, but I start my pitchers against them, confidently, at every opportunity.

Another season quickly slipping away.  This team is very frustrating to watch sometimes.  DeJong is slated to be activated tomorrow so the offense should be a lot better going forward...assuming Matheny doesn't do something boneheaded like bat him 7th or 8th.

If they don't hit HRs they don't score.

They have to string together hits, and that's hard to do when:

Pham is hitting .200 since May 1st

Wong is hitting .191

Fowler is hitting .171

Gyorko barely has a .300 OBP

Munoz and Garcia are 25th men who have to play daily

You have no bats off the bench

They're so, so, so boring. For the... 5th straight season? I know the 14/15 teams were 1st place teams, but they still had no life. Fat old Johnny Peralta was arguably the 3rd best piece on those teams.

... and, you are a NL club with no DH.

Bud Norris is a snitch

GM MO’ calling out Fowler via radio shows and podcasts

Fower blocking Matheny’s texts

Molina throws shade at Matheny via instagram, Wong/Fowler etc “like it”

Pham article from April

They’ve turned into Mean Girls

Well, the good news is they’re gonna win 82-85 games for the 3rd straight year
