Anybody think he'll get regular usage as a middle reliever?

Seems crowded back there once Reyes comes back.

There’s plenty of room for an arm like that in relief on just about any team. Maybe not the Yankees , but maybe even them.

Could this guy be this years Josh Hader?

Those relievers that get 1-2 innings in some games and rack up the k's are becoming more and more valuable these days, even in leagues without holds.

Also fyi to anyone on ESPN, I believe in most settings he goes on waivers once he's added. So whenever the next time after he's added your waivers or FAAB runs, that's when you could claim him.

I'm not 110% sure that's the case in all ESPN formats though.

If you read my original post, I said, "and then he'll be subject to waiver claim". 100% that's how it works in ESPN

This is some insane movement for an 102 mph pitch. He's gonna be breaking a lot of bats  on the right side of the plate.

I know right, that's like the nastiest pitch I've ever seen. 102 with crazy movement.

Not elite K's throwing 100mph? Would think he could get big K numbers.

Unless it is straight as an arrow at 100mph.  Was he getting his movement when he dialed it back to 95 and he was getting some misses off his slider.

He seems to be keeping it down in the zone since it's a two-seamer and so it's a bit more hittable than if he were to elevate it.  Not that he hasn't or he can't.

He’s an extreme GBer with a heavy, ultra-fast sinker.  It’s obviously a successful approach but limits his K-upside.

In his first 26 MiLB starts (~140 innings) he was under 7K/9. Thats pretty underwhelming.

He didnt start striking anyone out until his final 5 starts at High A, but that was only 27 innings.

His fifth was yesterday so it should be updated today. If it isn't it's because ESPN is asleep at the wheel again.

That's my point. He pitched yesterday and it wasn't updated overnight like usual.

Grateful Phan makes a great point though. It must be because his first outing wasn't in the databse. I'm going with that.

He should throw it up in the zone more. He's not going to close. He's more valuable than spot starting. That's about it.

This thing could could completely neutralize righties if he throws it at your chin.

What kind of league would this guy be useful in? Would anyone play him in a RP slot over a true reliever? Is he just a guy to keep an eye on if he becomes a starter??

Flexibility in daily leagues just in case other RP’s don’t have games or you wanna stream starters. Even more so in hold leagues.
