Anyone have any thoughts on the Milwaukee situation?

Giles is filthy and he looks pumped af right now. Just painted the corner at 100 mph.

It helps when balls are called as strikes

Hader is the favorite to get saves in MIL.

Hader is the head of the committee in MIL.

Hader is awesome and could be closer on most teams.

Knebel will resume closer duties quickly upon activation, unless he falls on his face and pitches badly which isn’t likely.

If I’m wrong, as a Brewers fan, I’ll gladly eat that crow.

"And what are you basing this on that will happen? So far the only thing we have seen consistently from him in the last 3 appearances is:

1. He enters in the 8th.

2. He tries to close it pitching 8th and 9th."

Moving on.

Entering 8th/9th makes you the favorite for saves and head of committee. It doesn't mean you will only enter 8th/9th from now on. Never said that. Always maintained Hader is favorite for saves, not that he will only pitch 8th/9th. Stop fabricating

You were defying someone's statement of "There won't be a save opp if those runners score so you bring out your best guy i.e. Hader. With guys like that you don't have defined closer roles. You use the guy when the situation dictates he will be most useful. May be the end of a game, may not be. "

by saying that he has only entered in the 8th and 9th.

So I'm just defying his statement. At that point that was my best argument to defy his statement. Later it was completely defied when 6th inning, bases loaded, 1 run game 1 out, Hader available.....and he didn't enter. (Entered later that game). So the person who made that comment, his statement was completely defied anyways. I knew it was wrong. But I didn't have hard evidence outside of his 8th/9th to defy it myself at that point.

Still never said he would only enter 8th/9th. Never even thought that. Just was my best argument to defy that wrong statement at that point in time.

He will not receive the next opportunity- remember to bench Joshua Hader tomorrow as he won’t be pitching.

Not sure Jimenez is next though with how he's looked.  Wilson hasn't walked anyone in a week.  My money is on him

Wilson came on in the 3rd inning on Sunday when Norris was hurt.  If it isn't Greene, it isn't Wilson either.

Wow watched Giles just now, dude looks locked!!! Maybe he is healthy now but that was filthy.

It seems like Giles gets the save opps when righties are coming up, and Devenski gets it when there are more lefties coming up? What’s the situation in Houston?

Do we think Greene is out?

They don't really have anywhere else to turn, unfortunately.  Maybe Jimenez, but in a rebuilding season, is there any reason to rush him into the role when he's probably not ready yet?  He'd be the only possibility.

The rest of the bullpen consists of Alex Wilson, Daniel Stumpf, Buck Farmer, Johnny Barbato, Chad Bell and Warwick Saupold.  None of these guys are even close to being closer-types, and none are even posting decent numbers - other than Stumpf, who is more of a lefty specialist.

I think they leave Greene there and hope and pray he figures it out.

That's exactly the situation. Hinch has said he likes those matchups

He literally just entered in a high leverage situation before the 8th/9th tonight.

At least read the full sentence you quote. Saying he is more likely to enter a high leverage situation later part of 6-9 than early making him favorite for saves

Doubtful . Greene is a prime trade deadline target for them to deal this year . They’ll give him a longer leash to build up his value vs a young guy like jimenez.

I'm like 75% certain you made up half of those guys.
