He was pissed. Didn't want to go out. Beltre had a small talk with him. So good news for you guys at least.

Not a good attitude when karma has gifted him another shot.  Nowadays teams get in trouble for not going through typical injury checkup protocol.

Hopefully it's not a concussion, or at least not a serious one.  He hasn't set the world on fire, but he's been fairly solid and it would be a shame otherwise since he's finally being given a legitimate shot.

Profar seems to be playing well over the last month or so but his ownership numbers seem low? Anyone using him?

I'm thinking about replacing Pirela with him

I've been using him in AL only ever since Andrus' injury. The average and OPS are nothing to write home about, but the counting stats have been nice:

15 Runs, 3 HR, 18 RBI, 2 SB  (last 30 days)

Using him in a points league right now since I lost Seager. He is the #8 SS in our format since the last 28 days.

He's getting close to top 100 status in AL Only leagues. The Rangers seem to be committed to batting him in the meat of the order, with most of his at-bats coming from the 3 and 5 holes lately.

Out of curiosity I pulled up his situational stats and found something pretty interesting:

Batting 2nd (27 AB) - 7-for-27, 1 XBH, .259/.375/.296

Batting 3rd (50 AB) - 8-for-50, 6 XBH, .160/.176/.300

Batting 4th (4 AB) - 1-for-4, 1 XBH, .250/.250/1.000

Batting 5th (22 AB) - 8-for-22, 4 XBH, .364/.423/.545

Batting 6th (37 AB) - 11-for-37, 6 XBH, .297/.386/.541

Batting 7th (12 AB) - 2-for-12, 1 XBH, .167/.286/.417

Batting 8th (4 AB) - 0-for-4, 0 XBH, .000/.200/.000

Probably just noise, but I wouldn't mind seeing him stick in the 5/6 spot in that lineup. He doesn't really have the power of a traditional 3/4 hitter, but he has been very productive in the RBI department the last week or so batting primarily in the 5 spot.

No idea why you would judge him based on one statistic alone. Great BB and K rates, low BABIP, decent spot in the order.

Sure wRC+ is just one stat, but it more so a summary of all offensive contributions put together. wRC+ is accounting got his Bb K rates and Babip. profar is..fine? but breakout? not quite there yet.

You can't use wRC+ to determine a breakout on it's own. But ok.

Can you help me understand why not? I am open to changing my mind.

Do we agree a player breaking out is doing something they have never done before? The player is going above and beyond what they have done in their career.

What substantial gains has Profar made this year?  What abilities has he greatly improved upon? What new abilities is he showing?

I don't have a strong opinion, I am ready to come to the other side.
