Is Meadows going to be unleashed now that he is with the Rays?

From the depth chart,
LF: Tommy Pham
CF: Kevin Kiermaier

RF: Carlos Gomez

DH: CJ Cron

Meadows replaces Gomez I'm guessing?

Can't believe it actually happened. A parody account tweeted Archer to Pittsburgh last night.

Yeah, but the prospect haul was much better in that fake report.  Glasnow and Meadows...  Sheesh.  Can't believe TB couldn't do better for a controllable innings-eating starter with ace upside.

Seems fine to me... That ace upside ain't happening. Meadows is to the OF what Chris Archer is to starting pitching

(very good but not elite as perceived by many)

Mallex Smith further muddles that OF

Changes of scenery have done great things for pitchers before, and it's not like he doesn't have the stuff.  A tweak here or there in an even friendlier park, getting to face pitchers instead of DHs, and without having to face the AL East?  SIgn me up for that.

I think that's a really good haul for TB.

Mabe you like Glasnow more than I do (meaning, at all)?  It would be a good haul for an arm of Archer's caliber with maybe one year of team control left.

Glasnow is archer before the rays fixed (to an extent) his control issues, plus meadows, im very happy

Nothing better in all of sports than the baseball non-waiver trade deadline...

I also like the first day of football season.

I do.

I've watched him a lot this year including in person up close once.   The stuff is undeniable but the mechanical inconsistency leading to control issues is obviously something that needs to be overcome.

He needs to talk to Chris Young and Big Unit.  They have both stressed how important core work is for taller pitchers.

The upside is still tremendous imo.
