I don't use my 5th round picks on broken down has-beens in steep three year declines, even if they have the prospect of marginally improved quarterback play.  Not how I play fantasy football.  If that's the way you like to play, help yourself.  I am trying for guys that may be next year's 1st or 2nd round picks.

Ok, fair enough.

Please share the 5th round players who have this capability.

Lost 3 really good offensive linemen. Lost a dual threat QB, who can also throw better than any of the QBs they brought in. Worst WR corps in the league.   DND.

Who are your biggest busts for the 2018 season?  Here are mine:   Lesean McCoy - bad QB, bad o-line, 30 years old, huge career workload Jordan Howard - less carries, more passing in Chi

kinda like Adam Thielen in double digit rounds last season? Oh wait you overpaid for their WR2

also don’t draft DT, I probably won’t. But again not really relevant to this thread at all. In order to qualify as a bust the expectations should be high which they’re clearly not

How in the world are you comparing 27 year old slot receiver Adam Thielen to 30 year old broken down wideout Demaryius Thomas?

How is DT "broken down"?  Has this dude ever missed a game recently?  Played all 16 in 2017.  Is there some offseason nagging injury that I don't know about?

The dialogue is as follows:

"I'm looking for players in the 5th who could be 1st round picks next year."

I then asked who they are.

So...who are the 5th round picks from last year who are now 1st round picks?

And better yet (and far more relevant) who are these 5th round picks THIS year who will become 1st round picks NEXT year?  THATS what I asked.

20 second google search.  From that list, I would prefer Sony Michel, Royce Freeman and Ronald Jones over Demaryius.

Well none of the WR's, including Thomas.  Only Ronald Jones and Royce Freeman.

Yeah exactly, nothing you ever say is relevant to the actual conversation or argument you're trying to make

Tell us again how a 5th round pick is a massive potential bust

He played 16 games yet he didn't even have 1000 yards.

He's been on a decline 3 straight seasons IN HIS 20's.  He's had a torn Achilles and a foot fracture.

750 yards and 4 TD's?  I didn't know it had to be MASSIVE bust for it to matter lol.

He hasn't missed a single game in 6 years!

Horrible QB play is something even the best can't overcome.  A guy like Osweiler is a disease to a WR.  Look at what he did to Hopkins.  He also didn't have 1000 yards in 2016 due to horrendous QB play, and he's literally one of the best in the game, right in his prime.  It was a HUGE over reaction by the fantasy community to drop him into the 3rd round last year because of that fact.

Yet he was better with Osweiler than he was with Siemian, see decline.

Nobody said he misses games, but the fact that he doesn't miss games and still puts up mediocre stats isn't helping your case.

He had the best QBR under pressure last season, he’ll be fine

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/what-tom-brady-and-case-keenum-do-better-than-anyone-else/

Yeah, and imagine if he had been playing in the AFC west.  He wasn't under pressure from Bosa/Ingram, Mack/Irvin, Houston 6 times a year.  Vikings had one of the easiest SoS last year.

Diggs has a fourth round adp, so not quite 5th, but close.  I could see Diggs being an early 2nd rounder next year pretty easily.

As for the WR drafted around where DT is, I would prefer Sammie Watkins and Michael Crabtree over Demaryius Thomas.  Those guys are younger and more explosive, from what I have seen.

Yeah there's no possible way that a starter on your fantasy team could bust

What are you even talking about? I specifically said that I probably won’t be drafting him. He just doesn’t qualify as a bust candidate at his current ADP

And yet both teams managed to make their conference championship games

The top QBRs have the top defenses.  This is not up for debate.

Keenum only needed to score greater than 15.8 PPG last year.  Wentz needed 18.4.  Brady, 18.5.

Of course their QBRs are high.  They don't have to take any risks!

As the defense gives up points, the passes get risky and the QBR drops.

Keenum is going from a #1 defense to a #22 defense.  MIN o-line wasn't that good.  Either is DEN.  Receivers are about the same, but older with less burst.  Shurmer was a good coordinator in MIN last year.  Kubiak isn't on the field calling the plays.  The only thing Bill Musgrave ever did right as an OC was let Peyton Manning audible his own record season.  Bill rode that to a HC job in SD, sucked, then ran back to Elway.  The End.

Keenum is a gamble,  I'd take Sanders and Thomas at their undervalued ADPs.  They need to produce to keep up with the other team.  Defense did get lucky with the draft.  They have NASTY pass rushing.

Jared Goff (outside top 15 last year) is leading the league in QBR this year.  Wade Philips is with the Rams, which is why DEN sucked last year, as I told everyone they would.  Now the Rams are stacked on EVERY defensive position.  They honestly don't "need " Aaron Donald this year to be a top 3 defense.
