Yeah the 0 ERA and lower WHIP definitely was preferred.  Would have been fine pulling him with 96 pitches after 6.

Would you really have been ok with him being pulled? I see angry posts on a daily basis here when a pitcher is pulled after cruising through 6 and has under 100 pitches. This is the definition of hindsight bias. Just sayin.

Well I’m at work so when I saw 96 after 6 I assumed he was done.  That’s 16 pitches an inning, which is a tad high.  I guess there are some who use the 100 pitch mark, but I generally look more at what they average per inning.

Generally, IF I’ve ever complained about a pitcher getting pulled early is before a QS or a very low pitch count.  I mean it’s not like he had only thrown 70-80 pitches.
