Young for the level is an understatement. Context is a big part of evaluating prospects.

I also think people tend to underestimate how tough of an assignment the Midwest League is for a teenage Latin American player or an American player in his first full year out of high school. Those early games are played in cold weather cities, some at night. Wander Franco probably has never seen snow or been in weather below 40 until this year. He was at the Florida complex until summer last year.

Posted this 4 hours ago.  He's doubled twice today. Raised is slugging % 50 points

Added a 3rd double. Slash line now at a healthy 300/389/467.

Doubles by an 18 year old in the pitcher-friendly Midwest League in April are likely to translate into HRs down the line.
