Marc Gasol 2018-2019 Season Outlook

Recommended Posts

dude will no doubt get back on track, think the ankle injury is bugging him a lil bit and the fact that he hasnt missed a game since he tweaked the ankle is probably a reason he hasnt performed in the last couple of games (plus he played against Joel which is alwyas a tough matchup)

I think so too.  As for the dimes imagine passing the ball to an open   Kawhi / Lowry / Powell / OG / Green / FVV or a cutting Siakam   Versus   the sad pile of players o

I'm not denying the impact of shut down. I'm saying that Gasol isn't a candidate for shut down.

Had too much to drink and cut Marc instead of Pau did we?

anyone picking up Noah? seems like Gasol might opt to take a few games off at some point

Rather have him take a couple of games off now and get back to form than force the issue and get hurt or underperform... I think Noah is there for that exact purpose, to buy him some time to rest but I wouldn’t buy into Noah just yet... rather have J Green if I’m looking at a handcuff since he handcuffs both JJJ and Gasol

I honestly hope he takes a game or 2 off if he can get back to his numbers he was producing earlier in the season. Marc be GASSED-old.

Also noticed after the game he went straight to the locker room, no hand shakes or anything. Probably mixture of fatigue and pissed at his bad shooting.

I'd prefer it too - but I fear he's too much of a competitor and stubborn to sit out when he can play.

With the way the Grizzlies have performed lately, 3-7 in their last 10 games, I'm starting to get worried about Marc's ROS outlook. Their playoffs schedule is 3-3-3 and I'd hate to have my best C (thus far) be shut down around that time if they're out of the race and giving their younger players burn. What do you all think of selling him soon?

He didn't get shut down last year so we should be good unless he has health issues

I'm gonna hold, the teams still 50% and 2-3 games out from making play offs atm. JJJ seems to have limited minutes a lot due to foul trouble.

I jumped off this wagon bc I was worried about the same thing. I sent Bledsoe/Gasol/Allen/Kelly O for Kyrie/Griffin/Marcus Morris. Pretty happy with it because I was damn tired of Allen and Bledsoe, plus I was pretty damn close to dropping Kelly O since James Johnson (who I also own) is surging.

My main concern in ownership is playoff schedule atm. Thankfully in first place and on track to be in the playoffs...

My league's 3-week playoff schedule is 03/11 - 03/31. If it wasn't for size limits on files in the forums I could paste a screenshot, but if you go here: Marc Gasol's 2017-18 Game Log , and look at that schedule in the same time-frame of 03/10 - 04/01 (+/- one day), Gasol played 9 out of 12 possible games, 75%.

With the 9 games in the playoff schedule this season, that percentage comes out to 6, maybe 7 games played. Combine that with him playing every game thus far in his age-34 season, dealing with nagging ankle issue and more wear as the season goes on, and a team trending down, this is where my concern lies.
