MWon 1,689
Okay all, take your bets. Will Barton has 5 games this week! He's out for tomorrow, so how many games do you think he plays this week? I'm going with 2/5 (taking out a B2B for rest).

He's disappointed me for 12 weeks and I think it will continue like this. I wish I never drafted him, and I'm sure I will never draft him again.
Ty Lawsome 99
The Nuggets' TV station was playing this commercial during the last game for the Clippers game on Thursday and it consisted of nothing but Barton highlights and a picture of him at the end. Seemed odd to me to feature him exclusively when he's still hurt...unless, of course, they know that he'll be coming back that night. Or maybe it's Will Barton bobble head night or something. Who knows. But because of that I'll take a shot in the dark and guess that he comes back Thursday against the Clippers.
csklmf 345
If there was no leaked video of him practicing, I seriously think he got killed somehow somewhere.
Boogie Buckets 440
I’d be super happy with 2 games from him this week
chud12 4,076
Is anybody going to even activate Wil when he’s hasnt played a game in 3 freakin months? I won’t be activating him for at least week if/when he’s back. We are going to see a lot of 15 min of run to begin and should be brought along really slowly. I get the eagerness yo see him back but he won’t be startAble for weeks initially. Edited January 7, 2019 by chud12
mightyjett 18
Even with one game this week.. as long as he can play until the end of season with usual stat line.. ill take it👌

When the report is that he is cleared to play around 27-28 mins, even from the bench, i will use him. Denver are loaded offensive and 20 mins will not be enough for the value, all of us are waiting for, the last 3 months.
chud12 4,076
From a Nugs beat writer. @Harrison Ward Doubt he plays on the road trip. The road trip is short as it’s only two games so that makes him at most play 3 games this week. Honestly atp I don’t think we see Wil for another two weeks. Until we here he finally participated in a full practice he isn’t close in my eyes. Too this point he has only been limited in practice

Not only are there five good starters who have rarely all played together, a lot of bench options have emerged too. Someone is going to disappoint, unfortunately. There's only one ball. The Nuggets are often vague with their timetables, and it's worth noting that Malone essentially gave this same speculative "couple of weeks" timetable back in November. There have been reports of Barton ramping up his workload at recent practices, so he does appear to be moving in a positive direction, but there's really no telling when exactly he'll be back. Just keep him tucked away in your IR-spot. Will Barton could be back in a few week

Popular Post MWon 1,689
Timeline here: 10/22/18 (Surgery): Is expected to miss the next 5-6 weeks of action. He should be fully up to speed by mid-December 11/10/18: Getting stronger every day. There is a chance he is back in action by the end of November. 11/29/18: Will Barton (hip) has been ramping up his workload at recent practices and Mike Malone said he hopes to get him back in the lineup "in the next couple of weeks." He may be able to return to action by mid-December. 12/16/18: He should still be on-target for a late-December return. 12/16/18: Mike Malone seemed to imply on Sunday that Will Barton (hip) is nearing a return. Malone said on Sunday that if Barton can get back to the court in 7-10 days "it'd be a big help." 12/23/18: "They are getting better. They are getting closer," said head coach Mike Malone. He should be able to get back out there sometime in January 12/26/18: Mike Malone hinted on Wednesday that Will Barton (hip) may be nearing a return. 12/31/18: Will Barton (right hip) is expected to return to action "soon." We should see him back in action within the next few weeks. 1/4/19: Coach Mike Malone has hinted Barton has been getting closer to a return, but it'll be almost a week since his comments about him returning "soon". 1/6/19: Barton seems to be getting close to a return. 1/7/19: Mike Malone said that Will Barton (hip) continues to make progress and he hopes to have him back within the "next couple of weeks." Wait, did I just repost the blurb from November? No? Okay. 2/8/19: Demarcus Cousins (Torn Achilles) and Kevin Love (foot) will make their NBA debuts. Coach Mike Malone says Barton will be back "soon". 3/18/19: Kristaps Porzingis (Torn ACL) will make his NBA debut. Fantasy owners forget they still have Will Barton on their teams. 6/10/19: Nuggets win NBA Finals. Barton was a key cheerleader on the sideline during the playoffs, giving teammates hope by telling them he'd be back for the next game. 12/20/19: Will Barton (hip) to undergo second hip surgery. Fantasy owners forget who Will Barton is. 3/18/20: Will Barton (hip) to be evaluated on a month-to-month basis. Fantasy websites remove Will Barton from the "available players" list. 1/21/21: Will Barton (???) to be evaluated on a year-to-year basis. New teammate Jimmy Butler, on his 10th NBA team, voices what's on everyone's minds and called Will Barton "soft" during a practice. Butler refuses to play, and remains Out with dual reasons of "general soreness" and "upper respiratory infection". 9/15/25: New NBA fantasy tag and slot of "BTN" introduced. Short for Barton, and named in (dis)honor of Will Barton, the new tag refers to any player who is close to a return...but really not. 12/27/30: Entire Nuggets PR staff fired due to misreporting player information and news. Fortunately, Barton, nearing his 40th birthday, is still expected to be back soon. 10/28/45: Will Barton Jr to make NBA debut tomorrow. Barton Jr will play for the San Diego Nuggets, under Coach Tim Duncan. Barton Sr is still listed as BTN and is not expected to show for his son's inaugural game, due to a sore hip. 10/29/45: Will Barton Jr (hip) injured prior to his first NBA game and is planning to undergo surgery. Out 5-6 weeks. Anyone surprised? 1/6/61: Will Barton Jr ramping up workload at recent practices. Barton Jr seems to be getting close to a return. New coach Nikola Jokic hopes he'll be back soon, but also suggests that he'd himself play in place of Barton Jr, despite being 65, in honor of the birthday of his former teammate, Will Barton Sr, who is still ramping up workout activities. 5/6/62: Will Barton Sr (right hip) undergoes 5th prosthetic hip surgery. The 71 year old is expected to be back "soon". 10/6/89: Will Barton Sr expected to play. Recently reanimated former basketball player Will Barton Sr will debut for his new team, the Black Hole Zombies, against the Mars Monstars. New zombie coaches Lebron James and James Harden expected also to travel the 1.2 million miles for the trip. 10/7/89: Will Barton Sr (hip) injured on NBA debut and will undergo surgery. Out 5-6 weeks. Barton Sr was injured on the play by fellow zombie teammate Zaza Pachuila. Edited January 7, 2019 by MWon 1 1
chud12 4,076
Just close this thread and open it next season. No point in posting status updates anymore. It’s yhe biggest tease ever. Dr. Malone has zero idea what he’s talking about. Clearly Barton has had a setback along the way.

Players suffer setbacks and don't feel right. It's possible that his body hasn't responded properly and that they are changing the schedule accordingly. It sucks as fantasy owners but it's 100% the right approach IRL. Core muscles are vital to everything we do and I am guessing they are worried about reaggravating the issue. I'd rather have owned John Wall, dropped him, and been able to stream instead of holding Barton. I guess if you've got your IL spot free, it's a non-issue, but if you're like me and holding guys like CP3 and DMC alongside Barton for half the season, these fake hopeful updates by Malone are more detrimental than helpful.
