Ok - Don't try to predict injuries. Guys are injury prone until they're not. If he's completely healthy coming into the year, draft with confidence.

Also, cleanup hitter playing in Coors field. Pick 120 is a steal, I can't imagine him lasting that long in competitive leagues.

I agree that it’s never good to predict injuries especially for guys his age. He does have youth on his side but it is hard to ignore it at times. The consensus rank of 120 was what I saw on fantasypros but I know for sure he won’t last that long in my league and most other competitive leagues.

agree with truetotheblue, but he isnt going 120 in any competitive league.  probably closer to half that

Right now his adp between espn, nfbc, rtsports, cbs, and fantrax is 92. I see that rising as the season nears and I could see your estimate of about half that being right on if he goes through spring training healthy.

Maybe it's my paranoia but I'd rather they just play Dahl in a corner..less responsibility / chance of getting injured and just let him hit.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Rockies are interested in re-signing free agent Carlos Gonzalez.

The price tag should be very inexpensive at this point, so why not? Gonzalez is coming off two relatively poor seasons offensively and defensively, but the veteran outfielder boasts a tremendous .328/.388/.605 career batting line in 2,566 plate appearances at Colorado's Coors Field. CarGo, who turned 33 years old in October, has drawn very little attention on the open market this winter.

I have him on a keeper team. I'm teetering between him and Clevinger.

Is he really batting cleanup? Cause it's hard to say no to any Indians pitcher in that division.

Yahoo has him ranked at about 90 or so, and that sounds about right. Mammoth risk, Mammoth upside. He's eventually going to have a healthy year soo...

Blackmon's crappy defense is not necessarily an endorsement for Dahl.

Hard to draft streaky injured guys with holes but the opportunity is there for this guy to hit 25 bombs with a 280 average and 90+ RBI's

Although i agree with most of what you said, i wouldnt call him a mammoth risk regardless of where hes drafted (within reason of course.) I also think his ceiling is much higher than .280,25.

didn't say that was his ceiling, more of a realistic outcome. Unless, that is of course, you wanna go gung ho on a "sophomore" with lots of holes in their swing.

#18 overall OFer in Razzball rankings with projections that are getting my hopes up: 83/30/94/.281/14 in 577 ABs

Please stay healthy.

Razzball it seems to me inflates his projection.  Seems like those numbers would be his career year.  Does that happen this year, or next 5 or never?  I would pay for those numbers.

I'd probably come down a bit from those numbers..but .280/80/25/80/10 SBs seems reasonable..obviously he could get hurt again..but one of these years he will stay healthy; so why not this year?  You want to own him the year he stays healthy.

What’re the chances he’s platooned? Rockies have plenty of guys that can hit lefties

They do?

The current backups are Tapia (also a lefty). Hampton or McMahon, backup catcher, Pat Valakia.  Nobody even near Dahl, no worries about a platoon.

He really seems like one of the more divisive players this year.

Razzball has him as the 18th OF and 51st overall and big projections; 83/30/94/.281/14 in 577

Rotoprofessor doesn't like himFangraphs has him at 77th overall

Seems like if he's healthy he has a chance to produce, but also seems like their may be some holes in his swing, or have the samples recently been too small to draw any definitive conclusions?

He’s 24. Let that sink in.  He was also called a much better prospect than Blackmon or Dickerson ever were.  An almost 25 year old blue chip hitting after Blackmon and before arenado...at coors? He had like 10 hrs in September.  And he’s getting taken after guys like Inciarte  and mazarra??  Correa,Bryant and kershaw are much bigger injury risks in my opinion.  Just doesn’t make sense to me, but that’s why we draft.

What reservations do you guys have about this guy aside from health? Looking target him but want to be thorough
