It was an NL-only league.

I figured since I started Merrifield's outlook thread, I may as well start his partner-in-crime's thread, too. Both were very effective thieves in 2018, especially late in the season.    Und

Currently higher on the player rater than Trea has EVER been.

Was like a 446 foot bomb to CF off of G Cole too.

Still remember @Flyman75 our discussions on him mid-last year... safe to say he's blowing away the even modestly high expectations, huh?!

Yessir. I love this kid. His lack of walks and Ks still concern me when it comes to his avg, but the other numbers are legit. I had him pegged for 15-40 this year and would still be happy with that.

6sb in 2 weeks is still insanely good.

Of course it is.

My comment was in response to the "freezing cold" remark above mine.  Freezing cold to me means carrying no value, and with 6SBs that's clearly not the case.

For people in a K's league like me, its amazing how a speed guy like him can go down by the way of the K so often. You'd think his speed alone would keep his BA floor to .270 or so.

Speed doesn't help you make contact and save you from strikeouts.  Speed saves you from slow grounders you can beat out but you have to make contact for that to happen.

Guy is just in a slump.  Bench him until he starts making contact again and all is good.

Speed guys are typically more contact-based hitters, which yields less strikeouts over the course of the season. It's not that hard guys.
