Why can't he just text him personally?

im not saying its right, but it is definitely a louder, more serious message to go public.  it comes off as a more serious matter and could lead to other players also voicing frustrations.  to keep it private, no one knows about it and its easier for bell to just ignore or even acknowledge, but do nothing about it.

You are going to spend a fourth round pick on a guy who may not play until week 11?  I won't.

If it's an RB or WR that is consensus top 3 across the FF world, I sure would.

Ramon Foster is an idiot. What do you get out of saying this publically?

You put pressure on Bell to report. Not saying it will work, but it's possible. It could also backfire. But this is the Steelers.....

If he does come back, that O-line should just lay down on his first carry and let him get blown up to teach him a lesson.

How do you regain the trust of your teammates after such a selfish move?  Buy them a $3000 Rolex?  I don't think so.

I would love to see this happen. He pulled this crap 2 years in a row now, so I’m glad to see the guys he depends on getting fed up with him. The longer he stays away, the colder the welcome he gets

C Maurkice Pouncey wants Le’Veon Bell to know this: "A star is born every year in the NFL. Did anyone know #Chiefs’ Kareem Hunt would be an All-Pro before last season? If James Conner didn't have cancer, he'd have been a first rounder.... Just watch him.”

Running back is far and away the most easily replaced position on the field... We saw what washed up Deangelo Williams did behind that O-line, just like how DMac/Morris dominated behind the Dallas O-line. No one is gonna pay Bell the 15m/year he wants. Him and his agent are both being stubborn-headed idiots at the moment. Apologize for the holdout, sign your damn contract, and go help your team win football games before they realize that the offense will be nearly as dynamic without you as it is with.

Maybe the worst thing that could happen to Bell's FA aspirations is Connor going off...

Bell will be the highest paid RB this year if he reports for week 1. It's tough for these other players to feel bad for him.

The Steelers losing week 1 could be the difference between getting home field, getting a bye or even make the playoffs. These guys have been busting their butts all camp. They get why he wasn't reporting for camp like them, but when it's time to play they expect him to show.

Wow...it has come to this.

Don't you think L'eveon or his agent would ultimately see this whole stunt as being completely detrimental to his long term value?

When other teams/ GM's see his actions, it has to have a negative effect on their perception of him as a player and teammate. They don't want to put a cancer (and one that would end up being pretty damn expensive at that) into their locker room. These guys see everything. His actions speak louder than words. He is truly acting like a primadonna. Do you really think that other GM's are going to take Bell's side, or Pitt's GM's side?

He is not only throwing away guaranteed money every week he misses, but it also increases the chances no other GM will be willing to shell out a ton of money for a 27 year old RB who just quit on his team. This is a team sport, afterall.

Whether or not his agent tells him something is one thing. At the end of the day it is up to Bell

This is getting worse by the minute. Losing the relationship with the front office is one thing, but losing the players (and coaches, possibly) is another, especially when it extends beyond the locker room and out to the media.

The only way he can really resolve this issue IMO is by signing the tender between now and Saturday and just sitting out Week 1. I think the players would (mostly) understand and welcome him back. If he misses any time beyond Week 1, he might as well just wait until Week 10 before signing the tender, consider it a lost season, preserve his body, and work toward a deal with a new team.

So his whole damn entire o-line hates his guts now?

I mean the Steelers kinda have to consider a trade at this point, not that they're gonna get anywhere near what he's worth

This whole situation is toxic

Honestly guys, Week 10? You guys are hilarious. There is nothing his agent has said to indicate week 10. Everyone has lost their minds.

Week 1 is certainly in doubt, but we were hearing that Earl Thomas was going to hold out into the season and he showed up today because.....MONEY!!

well if what his agent is saying is true and the goal is to protect his long term value then that means week 10, because that will offer him the greatest protection.    i'm not saying that is the wisest course of action, because he is leaving a ton on money on the table by missing games, but  if they truly want to maximize that long term value he is going to try to find a way to get his 1 year of credit and stay off the field for as long as possible.

and now there are quotes from players that are basically calling him out, so we are going to see what Bell is made of in a hurry.

Who's acting like it's nothing? It's definitely something. If the Steelers reach out to him tonight, they come to an agreement and he reports to camp tomorrow we are looking, at best, at a limited work load week 1. It's more likely he reports Saturday and misses week 1. It's also possible it goes beyond week 1.

The point is that people are already assuming he is out until week 10. That is comical.

The Steelers cannot offer Bell more money to show up.  The deadline has passed.  So you are proving that you do not know how the franchise tag works.  No wonder this situation is so frustrating to you.

those comments reminds of the scene in "Any Given Sunday" when the Oline basically lets Jamie Fox get clobber over and over again
