I guess that the good thing is Godwin is the slot guy and even with the backup QB, he’s still going to get targets in an Arian offense.  Probably not as good targets and surely less scoring opportunities.  But should still be fantasy relevant.

Anyone know anything about Griffin? Can he sling the rock?

Let us observe a moment of silence for all of us who benched Godwin and lost our weeks because of it...

This guy is going to be special. I think it comes down to how well Garoppollo and the RB's and the OL can set up the passing plays for the 49ers. This will determine how well he will be able to do thi

How many more of my WRs' QBs are going to fall by the wayside?

What's the word on Evans? I fear that if he's out, we have an unknown QB and a comedy RB corps, then the oppo will just sit on Godwin.

Yeah, the free ride is over. Evans was taking a lot of defensive attention away from Godwin.

They move him around a lot, the expected increased targets should offset any added defensive attention they give him.

I’m more concerned with whether it’s gonna be Jameis giving him those targets, bc if the backup QB starts next week we could be in trouble.

I'm not convinced Godwin's numbers fall to hell without Evans. This is not a Boyd situation as Godwin is an elite athlete and is in a great system. He's an absolute stud and is near the top of every metric in the league for receivers right now.

Detroit is a joke and he will do just fine- the bigger question is if jameis can't play

We are screwed. No Evans and an injured Winston

Idk...I think he's still good for a 10 point floor.  Lots of short passes coming up.

And you never know...sometimes a bench QB delivers more than expected.

I'd be more nervous as an Evans owner (if he was healthy).

It's Darius Slay with no Evans and a potentially crappy QB.

Is Darius Slay really all he's cracked up to be?  I don't have a PFF subscription so I can't see all the numbers, but he's got a grade of 58.7 which doesn't seem high.  Looking at this season, WRs have feasted on DET this year.

Honestly, I don't know.  He's good.  But I don't know on a game by game basis what his coverage was.   He shut down Cooper who's as hard a cover as anyone.  But Cooper was likely not close to 100%.    And I don't know if he (Slay) moves into the slot.   But looking at the game by game, the Bears had a pair of WR go off.   Presumably Slay was responsible for one of them.

I'm probably just trying to lower my expectations.

Not this year...it's worth noting however. Basically he's performing like Patrick Peterson but I will say it's more an indictment on the entire defense being crap, bringing his play down.

Let’s not forget Godwin is a talented receiver. Yah his situation has helped, but you guys are totally undermining this dude’s ability as a WR. Thread shouldn’t be all doom and gloom. Perhaps the situation will increase his production. He’s now the WR1 in a high flying offense. Yes, it has potential to hurt his value, but also has potential to boost it. He’s a stud receiver both fantasy and real life, that’s the most important thing. Talent is there guys.

I like the optimism but a lot depends on whether Winston is playing or not.

I think everyone here can come up with a handful of talented WR that were made irrelevant by a crappy QB.

Reports already came out that he’s expected to play.

Not liking this Winston situation. He couldn’t get CG going at all last week after dinging his hand and now he’s throwing a tennis ball with D Slay coverage on deck.

Bench?

Haha! Yes I get it but I play on non ppr and right now JW can’t even grip a football.

I’m not sure which is worse, Ryan Griffin or JW trying to play and being horrible.

8 catches for 60 yards isn’t going to help me in non ppr.

I’ll likely start him but it’s win or go home so you have to do some homework.
