I'm more worried about the PT still. If he gets regular AB's 30HR's is no question. Problem is things get crowded when Tatis is back, as Myers get pushed back to the OF.

Wil Myers has started exactly one game at 1B this season and all the rest in the OF.  He won't be pushed back to the OF, he already is there full time.

Oh yes, 1B is certainly a position you must have a defensive specialist at, so important... also key to bat the defensive specialist 2nd and 5th... it really is monetary investment IMO.

if you want a homer early in games take Reyes if you want one late/clutch its Renfroe also Renfroe doesn't get replaced defensively

An estimate: 900 strikeouts and 50 walks with 30hr.

Renfroe is the king of late inning go ahead bombs

hes the Anti-Franimal

blurb

Astoundingly, it's already the ninth go-ahead home run that Renfroe has swatted this season. This one came off of Blue Jays' right-hander Daniel Hudson after Manny Machado had walked and Eric Hosmer reached on a fielder's choice. Renfroe also drew a walk on Friday, finishing the night 1-for-3 to raise his season slash to .230/.270/.568 to go along with 12 homers and 26 RBI.

I thought so, I posted Renfroe>Reyes in Reyes' thread weeks ago but got laughed.

Well to be fair I think reyes was the one to own a few weeks ago. These two guys feel very similar at the moment, maybe you just go with the hotter of the 2 if you want some SD pie?

He's one of the best power bats in the game.

His power is legit, immense power... Like i said in April, he can be the NL Kris Davis... He's well on his way.

So of course SD wants to trade him.  Then they wonder why they never make the playoffs anymore.

Low OBP, bigtime power, corner OF profile is less valuable then legit starting pitching. He's been excellent and young, but if you don't get on base or don't have an up the middle glove. You are not un-trade-able and should willing to sell high for the right player in return.

Unless i'm mistaken, there is no way a trade would be for prospects. Exploring the idea of Parlaying him for MLBer at a different position they are not loaded up in.

I would be cool with him getting traded to a team with a decent home park. I imagine whoever buys him would play him everyday, which would obviously be a good thing.

Doesn't matter what park, his power isn't contingent upon a park. He is in San Diego and look at what he is doing even with occasional days off because their Outfield is so crowded.

They have tons of pitching prospects and they aren't going to win this year.  They don't need starters.

Padres offense is 22nd in runs scored. Despite being 11th in HRs.

Renfore is an excellent complementary hitter on a championship squad. Being the dude to drive in all the runs. Yet they are playing Myers in CF just to get both Reyes and Renfore's everday ABs.

I'd prefer keeping Renfore over Reyes and Myers..but that also means Renfore has the best trade value of the 3. So he's most likely to net something great in return that can help now. It's unlikely he actually moves, but you can't hate them for seeing what a potential market for him is.

Tatis should really be the only un-touchable MLB hitter. Renfore is a few months older than Machado.

Past calendar year - MLB HR Leaderboard:

1. Yelich - 53

2. Renfroe - 46

3. K.Davis - 43

4. Arenado - 42

5. Hoskins - 41

If he could get to a league average walk rate (~2% higher than his current 6.7%) and manage a .320 OBP he would be a carbon copy of Khris Davis.  And Davis is 31, Renfroe is just 27.

He probably could with some good hitting coach.  He could become the next big "star" slugger with the right team and coaching staff instead of being a power hitter constantly set on the back burner in SD.
