He must be yelling ‘ball’ before he throws each pitch.

In 2017 he gave up 2HR once and never 3. In 2018 he never gave up more than 1. Guess we have different definitions of "very prone".

IYO Swarzak gets over or under 25 saves this year

I think he's most likely the guy in an organization who historically seems to get a large volume of saves for whatever reason. He had success in 2017 before injury detailed him in 2018, he has experience closing, and has a solid K rate.

Too many factors fur me to feel taking the over on his year long outlook, between a Strickland return, the trade deadline, keeping his shoulder healthy etc.  But I do think he could be a very solid investment right now.

Cora on using Brewer over Barnes last night....

“Where they were in the lineup. The way he (Brewer) has been throwing the ball. We liked him there," Cora said. "We thought the matchups were good for us. It just didn’t work out.”

i guess its somebody else we need to keep an eye on

Sure but how's his mound presence?

How long do you think Cody Allen's leash is? I was thinking he could have a blow up every 10 days or so and keep Buttrey at bay

I would say without an injury he is safe, and actually expected to blow 3-4 saves a  month with his velo issues.

Neris should be rostered in all leagues.

His 2nd half statistics say it all.

I mean he's worth speculating with in larger leagues but as long as Kapler is at the helm you can't really rely on the best reliever getting most of the save opportunities, or any at all really. I'd like to actually see him used in the 9th first.

He’s back up to 93. He can make do with that.

Philly would benefit from having defined bullpen roles.  Kapler isn't smart enough to accurately play the matchups game in and game out.

That's good to hear.   I'd like to see him at 95 but 93 is better than the 91 mph meatballs he was serving up before.

Agreed. What I'm saying is that after giving 10 different pitchers an opportunity to close last season and all his other antics, expecting Kapler to make the correct move here is a bit too optimistic.

Neris got it done and looked good doing it. I know Kapler is unpredictable but I’d be shocked if Neris doesn’t get the next save opp. Maybe I’m a little biased since I just added him on all 11 of my teams. With how well he pitched in the 2nd half he’s a must-add, imo.

I still don't trust that Neris is the guy. Kapler is gonna Kapler.

Pretty much. I grabbed him cause I'm desperate but this isn't a situation I have much confidence in. Kapler does a lot of goofy stuff sometimes but at least Neris does have a lot of talent.
