I feel like I have to put a note in enough of these threads, but once again I will say it.... Due to upcoming collective bargaining agreement, there is going to be a real push to limit control on

I'm so excited for this dude

He's already my fav player in the Mariners org

Quickly becoming my favorite prospect in all of the minors.

He also has a very great Instagram, super active, a lot of fan interaction, lots of video highlights. Helps that he's fully bilingual at the age of 18

Nice little writeup from BA a couple days ago, behind paywall unless you get 5 free viewings which mine for some unknown reason keeps resetting everyday if I use my chrome browser on my phone. Anyways, they talk about him not just being a monster but some say he's the greatest prospect they've ever seen. Some serious praise there. Wander and Julio are this years Acuna and Soto.

Yeah: Julio Rodriguez on a 5-game hitting streak in the Arizona Fall League. 5G, .389, 7-18, 3 2B, 4R, 5RBI, 3BB, HBP, 4K, SB

Certainly has to be one of the youngest guys in the AFL too, I just can't believe how good this kid is. He's top5 overall for me and creeping upwards!

Was clocked at 104 MPH on one of those doubles. Not striking out really, taking his walks. Awfully impressive for an 18 year old getting his first taste against AA pitching

With kelenic being shut down rest of AFL season he has a great chance to leapfrog him as Mariners top prospect. Stole 2 bases today and should be on a rocket up all the lists especially ones where he is not a top prospect already.

It's not just his plate skills or frame or power. Even in interviews, you can sense that indescribable 'it' - the intellect, the sensitivity, and the humility that sits atop an inner knowing that said-player is a complete and utter beast.

Off the top of my head Scott White is the only major ranker I've seen who had him outside the top 10. Seen him as high as 6 with James Andersen I think.

Scott White's rankings also tend to be for single season traditionally. Proximity is huge for his rankings

I asked Dipoto if there is any chance of Rodriguez getting fast-tracked all the way to Seattle this coming summer.

"He wants to not only play in the big leagues, he wants to play in the big leagues as a 19-year-old,” Dipoto responded. “He’d obviously need to earn it, but based on his physical abilities, it’s not entirely out of the question.”
