Framber Valdez listed as bulking today. Up against Griffin Canning and the Angels, I don't know if he'll make it past 2 or 3 innings. Still worth the spot bulk, in my opinion.

The Astros are in a huge pickle with regards to the pitching staff for the next two days. Framber may get 5-6 innings regardless of performance because they're likely going to be in a bullpen game tomorrow. Sneed and Urquidy can't come back for a few days.

Something to bear in mind if you're considering Framber tonight.

This is a good account in case it hasn't been shared yet.     https://twitter.com/Opener_News

@Opener_News is a great Twitter resource for up to dat Bulk/Opener news. Has been tremendously helpful for myself having a good idea of which Bulk guys to stream.

Knowing the Rays id guess Bulk 80% regular starter 20%   hes usually right around 5 IP in his minor league starts which suggest Bulk when hes up

Any word on Astros today? Originally saw McHugh, but he hasn't been stretched out in awhile. Maybe just bullpen day type situation?

Felix Peña set to bulk for the Angels against the Dodgers tonight.
Pedro Payano looks like he'll be bulking for the Rangers against the Mariners.

Payano has a 4.4 ERA in the minors right now with 10.7 K/9. I'd say he's worth the risk against Seattle.

Have a link to the Pena news?

You're right, I was mistaken about Peña. I saw him listed as bulking in Rotowire earlier. That must have changed. ESPN has him starting as does MLB.com

Milone starting, not bulking today. Where are all the bulkers going? It's funny because whenever these guys start they get shelled but teams don't want to use them where they performed best.

I don't have all the info, but it might be players asking to start. I know some pitching contracts get performance bonuses for X number of major league starts in a season.
I could also see then, that when they get the start they get performance anxiety, knowing they want more starts, and that might only happen if they perform in them.

Tommy Milone's contract does state a $1M incentive, per: https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/seattle-mariners/tom-milone-8598/.
What those incentives are... ?

But that's just speculation.

Is Brett Martin opening for the Rangers tonight or expected to start?

If he's opening, who is bulking?

Consensus is that Pedro Payano is bulk tonight.
